Let's all get up and dance to a song that was a hit one day before your mother was born. You became a legend of the silver screen, and now the thought of meeting you makes me weak at the knees. etc Definitely some musical tastes shared with 1967 McCartney.

I have a question for people who know more about this kind of music by the Bonzo Dog Band -- was the music of Tiny Tim in this genre? North Americans saw Tiny Tim sing 'Tiptoe through the tulips' on the Ed Sullivan Show in the 1960s. We thought that he was a one-off. But I am beginning to think that his kind of music was part of a genre of music in Britain that North Americans were unfamiliar with. Thanks. (It is an acquired taste.)

@@lisalmenard3828 - There are videos here on youtube by the Sage of Quay Mike Williams that show pics of a young Vivienne Stanshall, an older Vivienne Stanshall and a current pic of James McCartney side by side and there is quite a resemblance. The Sage of Quay bases a lot of this on the book "The Memoirs of Billy Shears" which he thinks was written by William Shephard aka Faul or through a ghost writer named Thomas Eharriett. I don't know what to think but the Sage of Quay videos are fascinating. Also if you seen the James Corden show about 6 months ago, Faul and James Corden go into a hairdressing salon in Liverpool and Faul looks at an old pic of the original Paul getting a haircut and says "He is getting his haircut" not " I am getting my haircut". He speaks of himself in the 3rd person which is not how one would speak of himself ??????

I think the effect his father had on him didn't help either. I remember the news saying he had died, was it smoke inhalation then? Bit like Steve Marriot it seems. I been watching him a lot lately, extraordinary geezer lol. A real legend that seems to have been largely ignored. Hearing that story of him and Moon going into a shop to buy trousers, hilarious pair they were, Viv and Keith i mean, not the trousers ha ha .

Yes, it was smoke inhalation. And you're right, he never got the recognition he deserved.

So my ex fiancée and I were going to use this as our couple's dance at our wedding...the entire planning of which he had left up to me, and needless to say, I didn't dump him for lack of musical taste. This is a good song/band, but when you love someone, you put in some effort. Selfish ass. Glad I didn't marry him. Still a good song, though.
