Doyle: bc it's just as they said; cops don't want to admit that they made a mistake. And it's very expensive to hire a lawyer; especially for a case that was notorious as this. Just like that guy said:if you don't know facts about this case why are you judging? And these 3 didn't get a dime for their time served with absolutely no DNA evidence that was theirs or they wouldn't have been let free.

I have followed this case very closely since it was on the news when I was 11. I'll never forget hearing about the nature of the injuries and immediately thinking of Eric Smith/ Derrick Robie case. By the time the news had started reporting heavily on the WM3, despite the crime being 3 months after that, I began hearing about Derrick Robie right around the same time. Even as young as I was I'll never forget feeling so sad for the kids in both cases. I also wanted to know so much more despite being a child. Crime and murder has always intrigued me not for the sensationalized details of graphic violence but the very thought that if these children were killed in such special circumstances that resulted in their bodies being found discarded in areas extremely close to their homes it was something that could very easily happen to me and my sisters. One thing that has always bothered me and probably a lot of other people is the way Lori Davis seemed to have taken advantage of Damien. He very well may have felt happy to have the attention of a pretty lady and I'm hoping she did provide him with the support he needed while he sat in jail all those years, but something about her gives me a bad feeling. I once read an article where the reporter included some quotes from an earlier interview. During the interview Damien and Lori had been eating lunch at an upscale bistro in tribeca or one of the upper class neighborhoods in New York City. He happened to ask her about the menu because the items were unfamiliar to him. While explaining the exotic food choices Damien mentioned that he couldn't stop eating pizza since he'd been back in the real world. Lori then told (I'm paraphrasing) the reporter that she was trying not to push him too much towards trying new things but she was becoming annoyed at his "simple" food choices and said she'd give him "a little more time" and then she would be insisting he break his pizza habit. I'm not sure why but that made me so angry. Here is this child ( I say child bc he was easily still a child when he'd gone to prison) and he's been thrusted back into society in a strange city where the only person he's been in constant contact with is now telling him he has to stop eating something I feel was a huge comfort to him based on the frequency in which he'd ate it. For someone to tell him he'd have to give it up seemed extremely insensitive and controlling. She was already pushing him to do all of these paid appearences and interviews despite knowing he would probably need some serious r and r at their home while focusing on reintegrating himself back into the world. It totally seemed lost on her that he was alone for nearly 20 years with very little insight on the ever changing world, his family and his possible plans should they begin to initiate the death penalty. In a split second he was all of the sudden being overstimulated and looked after by this woman who is supposed to have his best interest. The whole thing made me sad for Damien and I sincerely pray he is happy and has a semblance of peace in his life.

I stopped paying close attention to Damien, Jason and Jesse after their release, but one of the things I couldn't help but notice was Damien's need for corrective and tinted glasses. That appears to have diminished somewhat, which is good for him. This case is still quite polarizing. Those who believe that the state of Arkansas got it right in charging, convicting and sentencing the WM3 with the murders of Stevie, Christopher and Michael stand out. The thread that runs through their commentary is poor literacy. It's a rare day you'll find an anti-WM3 comment that isn't a two line, poorly-worded, poorly-spelled bit of vitriol. They've not bothered to keep themselves apprised of the evidence, rejecting even the very telling physical evidence. They don't understand the nature of an Alford plea. They pay no mind to the actions of Damien and Jason in the aftermath of their release. You tend to find that murderers who are acquitted, or who are released from prison with protestations of innocence, spend zero time trying to have the case re-opened, looking for justice by finding the guilty party. Why? Because they're the guilty party, so pretending is just a waste of time. As I understand it, at least two of the three are still actively searching for the type of conclusion that would result in exoneration. Pardon is not enough. The Alford deal is not enough.

I was 11 yrs old when the murder's happened.. I remember this on TV, watching it with my mum. I live in Victoria BC Canada, where a book called "Michelle Remembers" ignited the Satanic Panic Era all around the world. Only later to be de-bunked by many of local O.T.O members, against their false claims. I wasn't born when that happened, but its pretty crazy though, if i travel abroad, and mention i'm from Victoria, i'm usually met with "OMG you're like from the most Satanic place int he world". Which it really isn't, at all. Yes, there is a huge following of Thelemic's, Wiccan's and Pagan's, myself included, here in Victoria, but straight up Satanism? NO. Anyhow, glad Damien got a second chance at life and he's staying true to himself.

The thing about jesse miskellies crying and confession is that they had interrogated him all day long, for hours and hours. It was only the last 45 min they turned on the tape recorder to record his "confession". he initially said they didnt do it, but he wanted to go home. After 6 long hours of god only knows what they said to him before that tape recorder was turned on, and with his diminished mental capacity, he just wanted to go home and told them what they wanted to hear. I believe they are innocent.

LP, I worked in a large bookstore back then, and we had a whole section of books devoted to SRA, including Michelle Remembers! I remember how it was taken for granted this was a growing national terror, and how all the photos and media portrayals made Damien look like some arrogant remorseless sociopath. I didn't have any reason to believe otherwise until years later. Having heard more of the story (first via West of Memphis), looked at the facts as reported by third parties like Arkansas history archives, and read what Damien himself has written, I can now see all those things as adolescent bravado in the face of pure incomprehension about what was happening to them. I get how vulnerable people sometimes strive to make themselves look intimidating, and that means some people will never look beyond the surface - even if Mr. Byers and Mrs. Hobbs themselves have. I commend them for that. What I can't comprehend is how people can look at a perennially gentle soul like Jason and see a child murderer. He's the kind of guy who'd catch spiders and put them outside. When they got sent up he was like a baby himself, and Jessie was mentally maybe at the level of a six year old. But since your detractors are doing things like calling you a stupid bitch who should go kill herself and that you're waiting for your own chance to kill kids, maybe I'm expecting too much. (Damien does seem to make an excellent target of projection for people with violent shadow selves.)

If I was out there spreading my word I would also feel pain for the children and there families. I’ve never seen him even mention the 3 boys. That’s what I don’t understand... you have all of this publicity but you can’t say a thing about how horrific the crime was and how they need to find the people reasonably. Daniela Agliolo First of all, this is NOT my opinion. The defense came to the state with an Alford plea. The WM3 admitted the state had enough evidence to convict them again in a new trial & they chose NOT to take that new trial....even though AR granted them a new trial!!! They pled guilty. It's been years & we're still waiting on their "new evidence." No such thing! They weren't even at the rally on May 5th to re-open the case. What does that tell you? They jumped at the chance to get out & Arkansas had a new prosecutor who didn't want to spend time & money on a new trial. Millions of dollars once again in a new trial because the wm3 is backed by blind supporters & sick celebrities who are into the occult. They worship Damien. The wm3 already served 18 years & they were young when they committed these crimes. Who would plead GUILTY to killing 3 children when they knew they could have a new trial? They had no alibis & confessions by all 3! EVEN after conviction. Fibers from Baldwin, candle wax & eye witnesses seen them coming out of the woods. His real name is Michael Hutchinson....NOT Damien by the way. Read Exhibit 500.

Rosa Mila your god of abraham is an ancient mesopotamian demon that commanded his cult to slaughter men, women and children. So in reality its you people that are the "satan" worshippers. Damien Echols is an enlightened one that will be counted amongst Jesus of Nazareth (who's practices and beliefs you don't follow), Siddartha Guatama, and others. You are brainwashed and spread an evil ideology of radical right-wing religious fundamentalism. Also, Qanon is a CIA run propaganda program designed to brainwash, radicalize, and organize a controlled terrorist cell/militia to act as a vanguard for a neofascist, capitalist, theological, police state. Good luck being on the wrong side of history... again.

I’m happy at how successful Damien and Jason are. Glad they got out of that awful place they lived and away from all those drugged out weirdos... namely the parents
