I am 63 yrs old and retired last year. I have loved Damien since l first heard O back in 2007. My wife and l now travel around the world following his tours we went to 4 of his Sailboat tour last summer and went to see him in Japan which was so special. He is so intimate with his audience so raw and so very soecial.

Longish story, a thank you traveling toward you with love and respect. I'm just about to turn 67, 4 months into a 12 month recovery from a major spinal surgery. For the first time since I was 4 (1960), I have no responsibilities and owe nothing to anyone. Even though it can be difficult to travel alone, I'm meeting up with several different people for some legs of my journey home. I live in Oregon, have given up my home and given away 98% of my belongings. I'm just starting to tell my children and children that I am leaving the USA & never coming back- though they visit me more often if I live far, far away rather than 1 hour northwest of Eugene. I truly believe that art saves lives & I know absolutely that music saved me. I bought an airline ticket good for 1 year- you continue to fly in the same direction around our planet but you may go North, South, backtrack and travel as much or as little as you please. I do have places to go and people to see- I taught in England for 3 years in my early 20's and know people in many places that I intend to visit. When I lived in England I saw many amazing shows- at Albert Hall (dozens), in Prague, Berlin, Bruges, Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, Dublin, Marrakesh etc. I'm figuring for the first 3+ months I plan to follow my favorite, still living, musicians. There are a couple others but you Damien are number one on my dream list. There are very few musicians that I love, admire & respect that I have never seen live, and if I had a bucket list, seeing you live would be #1. I'm flying out of Seattle on August 17th, just after seeing one of my favorite people- Patti Smith- twice; in Portland on the 15th and Seattle on the 16th. Decided not to design my travels or my new life- just going where the climate suits my clothes until after I meet up in India with one of my favorite non-biological daughters. Sometime between November and spring I'm going to be looking for you (sounds like I'm a creeper- 'every move you make, every step you take; I'll be watching you.' But I'm not a creeper- just an old music lover (I started eary- I grew up in Rhode Island on a small island next to Newport and remember every Folk Festival since I was 4 years old starting with Dylan, Joni, Neil, Pete Seeger, John Prine, Leonard Cohen, Joan Baez, James Taylor, Judy Collins and many others as they reached Newport at 17- 21 years old. So yes- I'm not making specific plans at this point but if we don't end up in the same place by the end of November, I will hunt you down. I'm planning to end up in the Algarve region, on the south coast of Portugal where I have spent 2 summers and feel closest to my imaginary perfect home- where I will live out my days unless my fate leads me elsewhere. I've had this dream for 30 years but my desire to see you perform live was the nudge I've been waiting for. I think you are an amazing person and kinda hope to see you in Ireland or Wales where my ancestors are from or for some reason I keep thinking Bruges. But again, many thanks for getting me out of my old life and finally motivating me to live my dream. Looking forward to seeing you, would love to bend an elbow and have the opportunity to talk with you and I know for sure this will happen. Otherwise, come down sometime and play on the South Coast of Portugal. As Leonard Cohen said, I'm crazy for love but not coming on- just paying my rent everyday - in the Tower of Song. With respect, appreciation and love to you and yours. We are all so blessed that you are you. 🙏🤔🕉️🎶🌺🍺🎵🎈🌻🎼✨🌱⚡⭐🎇🌠🌟☯️✨💫🌍🍻⚓♻️☪️🏴☠️😏®️

If you leave me now It's not that I can't take it It's just that somehow I think you'd break it So much beyond repair Like pulling out my hair And poisoning the roots A gun that never shoots again And if you leave me now And take him deep within your throne Like you did when you were coming home Yes, and you did again in Mexico And again before you go And I believed your lies So turn and walk away I've overspoken Said all that I can say I know that I can kneel And I could cry And I know that I could show you how I died But what good would it do? Give the world another fool So, if you're gonna stay Don't just say it Stay, really stay I don't want any more goodbyes Any more disguise No more tossing coins Or him between your loins And if you're gonna stay I'll place you high upon a hill Yes, and with my hands I'll build a tower in your name And you will do the same Won't you my love? Won't you my love? Won't you my love? Or just turn and walk away I've overspoken Now said all that I can say I know that I can kneel And kiss your feet Walk ahead and clear the street So you don't have to meet him But what good would it do? Give the world another fool Turn and walk away I've overspoken Now what more can I say? And I know that I can kneel And I can cry Man, I know that I can show you how I died What good would it do? Give the world another fool Sitting on this stool I'm close to giving up on you

For one thing is you never ever lean over and kiss no man's feet, I wouldn't care if he was poor or rich. Wait, maybe if he is rich. No, I was just joking. I especially would not kiss a rich. And here is why, once you give in or up on yourself and allowing a man to walk all over you all day you are willing to still lean over and kiss his feet. What is wrong with your brain. You are only saying that in hopes his guy sees what you wrote and say hey I have a chick who would do anything for me even kiss my dirty feet. What is that saying about yourself? You do mot.know this man from Adam and you would give up yourself respect you being a woman. For what to lay in bed next to a rich man who is obviously in love with his love who walked away from him. Now, how much would you like to place a bet that Damien kissed his wifes feet way to much and she walked all over him and left him even women will every so often a man the way they treat us, another thing is here do you really believe by say, you would knell down to kiss his feet he would write to you? I love the blowers daughter and the baster. When Damien sings it sounds as of he changes the words to blowers daughter over and over again. For Damien it's sad you wrote all of your ex-wife. When you hang on like a leech sucking the life out of her with song after song and always talking about her with every song gives her ther power over you. If you took back that power and said well fuck it, I am done being your backbone or that glue that kept you together or the nail that held yourf pictures up. If you would have walked away when she did and not given her that power you would probably have won. It's totally obviously his ex-wife was not into him f or his money. Money is always nice to have but you can not buy true love with it. Fake love yes until the money runs out or he can not keep up with his mate who would want to be in bed having sex all night every night. Now, its only finding a man who enjoys sex as much as she does. Women will cheat if a man becomes lazy in bed.

I am posting this comment in this quiet corner of the internet universe just to leave my cosmic imprint on this universe. I think we all got to do this, try to predict who will be the artists who will really be revered maybe hundreds of years from now, mainly because the world took time to wake up to their awesomeness. Try to predict so that more and more people of the future generations come across our comment aka a cosmic imprint of our thought generating brain, and our thought and in turn our own self gets a new life. Who is to say this method is far better or far worse than the current way humans try to leave their imprints: having babies, and hoping they survive through all the diseases, depressions due to heart breaks and heart-brakes, bullying assholes, terrorists and natural calamities and keep propagating our seed forward. This comment will last forever and forever until the databases of Google eventually burn and get destroyed due to maybe an asteroid caused volcanic eruption, and the binary coding that is represented by this comment, these innumerable combinations of '0's and '1's, would lose their meaning and would no longer represent my thought. But that is a long time I would say. But you need to be careful. You cannot post it on a very very popular current-generation artist, because then your comment would be lost in the innumerable bourgeois comments. You are increasing the chances of your cosmic imprint not getting passed out to anyone. Also you cant go for an artist who you think is currently very popular but his/her legacy won't last the tides of time. We need this web page to be visited by the future generations. And as there is going to be even more and more data sets of literature, art and music to surf on the internet, it is going to be lesser and lesser probable for people to end up to the video where you have left a comment. so, you need to be very clever about this. It needs to be an artist who is genuinely gold, would be revered in the future, but also doesn't reach out to a very big audience now or later, for the fear of getting lost among the plethora of comments; it needs to be someone who keeps a stable, niche, consistent and passionate following year on year. I put my money on Damien Rice. Future generations, feel free to comment and talk to my cosmic thought imprints. I wonder if you would think of me as I think of cro-magnons or something. Al rite. That is all I have to say.
