I think one of the crazier things is the value proposition for a lot of people. Thanks to my 3a trade in, and the pixel buds a series offer, I'm getting a Pixel 6a for sub $200. I've gone from 120hz screen to 60hz. It is definitely noticeable especially at first. But after using it for a few days, I don't really think about it anymore and it's just normal. I mean, 120hz is definitely more pleasant to use, but not really a necessity at least to me.

I agree, I've never owned a 120hz phone, so this pixel feels as normal as any phone I've used. My brother has a 120hz phone and although it's nice, it's not something that I'm necessarily looking for. And I appreciate more battery life with 60hz.

The app loading/refreshing again might be due to the aggressive optimization in android 12. After disabling battery optimization for certain apps that I use often I didn't encounter this issue.

Spot on , especially the part re’ refresh rate. Great feature if you play games on your phone, but for everyday use - couldn’t care less about it. I’m going to miss wireless charging. I’ve ditched my Pixel6 and replaced it with S22 - got worn down by the size (slightly big for my taste) and so so fingerprint scanner. S22 (the smallest) treat me well, but I miss Pixel. BTW Google - shame on you, still neither Google store nor proper connectivity for Pixel line in PL. This country might not be the sexiest, but we’re in EU for almost 20 years now.

Personally, I accept nothing below 90 FPS! But people making it seem like this phone is a bad deal just because it doesn't have 90 FPS or 120 FPS just makes you look silly. Most people actually don't even have 90 FPS on their phone right now let alone 120! Regardless of how you feel about the refresh rate this phone is going to be a banger!
@skrttt_dffoo2 жыл бұрын
I was a "60Hz is fine" camp for a long while and even still said so while rocking a 90Hz phone. However ever since using a 120Hz phone, it really is a noticeable difference. It might seem miniscule at first but its a QoL that you will eventually take notice. Its the same thing as when 1080P or high DPI was argued against 720P for "you can hardly see the extra pixels". Even the best phones with 60Hz like the iPhone 12/13 felt noticeably terrible to scroll on for me and I'm not particularly fussy when it comes to performance and feel. Really disappointed the 6A is running 60Hz. Otherwise, it would have an obvious midrange steal.

🐝 I think the 6a is a decent value in NA where the smartphone competition is, for the lack of a better word, crap. Everywhere else like Asia, Europe etc. it’s just not as good as a deal especially with so many other companies offering a lot more for even cheaper prices. I get that the main audience for this device would likely be average consumers and not tech geeks but I think a 90Hz panel would have been so much better. Considering average consumers tend to keep their devices for longer, at least this way the phone will still feel somewhat snappy even when the chipset starts to show its age.
