Great trip Guys! Nice haul of Pollock & Mackerel, and a lovely Gurnard. Operation catchup continues. Getting close to lunchtime here - a fillet of that Pollock in the pan with Butter & Old Bay would go down a treat! Stay safe & well - Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍

Always eerie in the fog, but the fish like a bit of pea soup! Nice stamp of Pollock, haven’t seen those in numbers here for a few years! 👍🎣

I've always returned wrasse as I've been told there horrible eating what's your thoughts? And how do you cook them please?
@Trojwaterman Жыл бұрын
Best cooked under the grill with some butter and herbs. As they have a white soft flesh this can take up the oil in a frying pan. I think some people don't eat them because of the tougher skin and scales so a bit more work to prepare but they are tasty.However I would take a bigger one if you can 2lb minimum.

As a young lad we used to take big wrasse to an old lady who baked them in the oven in wet news paper and when the fish was cooked the skin came away with the paper and the bones just lifted out. She loved them.

What do Pollock taste like Troj we don't get them here in New Zealand. 😊
@Trojwaterman Жыл бұрын
Pollack have a delicate flavour enhanced by putting salt on and leaving in the fridge overnight. You could say they are like a cod but not so coarse meat

I came across an interesting video - Hitler's Island Madness kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKXKq5tslMithLM confirming that Guernsey was the most fortified island in WWII. You are probably aware of the fortifications. Cheeers.

Yes we used to play in many of the bunkers and fortifications from the war as kids. We also had many left over from the Napoleonic wars
