People never truly understood him because no one cared to look harder to see Damon was just a hurt boy who never had anything to his way and didn’t want to be seen as weak but still always cared for everyone even tho he said he didn’t, it wasn’t that hard to see his act but no one cared enough bless him, he deserved pure happiness

I stopped watching TVD, but seeing this, I feel like starting over again. WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO DAMON?! -_- Stop torturing him! :'( Everytime Stefan f**ks up, everyone is like "It's okay Steffy, that's completly fine." But Damon doesn't get to make mistakes?! (I'm team Salvatore brothers BTW :) ) Your video is amazing.. i nfact it's so amazing that it made me cry and it restored my old Damon passion. :) Thank you for that. :)

I’m not a fan of him but the amount of shit he went through makes me feel bad for him. He shouldn’t have had to go through all that. This also gives us a better understanding of why he acts the way he does. He just wanted to be loved by someone and all they did was hurt him.

Many forget or gloss over Damon's abuse he suffered by both his Parents that Stefan barely received when both were near innocent Humans still and the way Damon was also traumatized from the war he experienced and viewed as fighting for the wrong side but was only doing it to try to earn his Fathers respect until he felt enough was enough and it was time he rebelled near fully against Giuseppe then when he made a move for Katherine first Stefan made a move for her after knowing that Damon was the one that began pursuing her first and how his brother felt about her there is a reason Katherine said Damon was the one that loved her too much and Stefan not enough that was the first betrayal Damon experienced by Stefan then the second was when Stefan allowed Damon to believe that he broke his promise about keeping Katherine's Vampirism a secret which lead to Kat being caught and dragged away then Stefan forced Damon to complete the transition while Damon wanted to die without Katherine being alive then Damon decided to live for two reasons afterwards one was to clean up Stefans reckless messes and the other was because shortly after completing the transition he found out from Emily that Katherine was alive but weak in a tomb and that he could free her in a hundred years or so when the comet showed up so he decided to stay a Vampire for mosty the secondary reason and only did the snatch, eat, and erase method with humans only when in need for substanance while Stefan was doing the snatch, eat, and kill thing on humans for fun, amusement, art, sport, excitement, and entertainment as well as raping and molesting people and robbing and stealing among other things and sloppily leaving bodies everywhere in his wake risking both him and his brother getting caught and executed by the council and towns people so Damon left but not before asking Lexi to stop Stefans over the top actions then he met Sage who convinced and taught him how to enjoy the snatch, eat, and erase not only when need of food and thirst but for pleasure then Damon only killed people who were criminals the other people he turned only if they asked him to and he snatched, ate, and erased on many people for enjoyment but still did not rape, molest, rob, or steal from them it was not until the 1950s suffering five years of extreme torture that brought him even more trauma then he had in his Human life and he was vengeful towards anybody who was a Whitmore or a supporter of them and then shut his humanity off or mostly off then became the monster we saw in Season One at least towards most people

There is something so painfully human about Damon something many people ignore, Damon who kills to feel anything, who was tortured at Whitmore in t he 50s, who's mother abandon him and Stefan Tim and time again. Damon who was forcefully turn by his brother so he wouldn't be lonely. Yet Damon ended up being abandoned by Stefan, Damon was alone for so long. He just wanted his brother but knew it was best to stay away keeping watch from a distance. No one cares to look below his cold exterior beside Elena.
