I love when Sr. said the sound of kids laughing, crying, screaming, etc. is like comfort and “the music” he grew up with. I think in America we seriously undervalue family connections and children. Everyone upholds this idea that solitude is the best thing ever and that children are a burden. A lot of people have no idea how much they are missing out.

I look at the relationship between Chris Rock and his siblings-he didn’t want any of them to get ahead in life, they really had to make their own way and some of them are still struggling to make a name. When I first saw Happy Endings, I was so excited. I said to my wife remember In Living Color? He’s back on TV! I didn’t know he had a son that looked like him. I thought the son was the dad. I said to my wife Oh he’s looking real good! It didn’t take long to figure out, but we loved the show and watched every episode.

He's so blessed to have his dad regardless of the fame and fortune. My dad disowned me at 8. He just died and never got to meet his grandsons. But I did learn how to be a father to my boys thanks to him. Because I do the exact opposite. I'm an excellent husband and father. Married 18 years.

I haven't been a casual TV watcher in over a decade and I used to watch Happy endings and thought that show was great and he was great in it. It really was good. The cast was fantastic and I think it was completely underrated.
