Dan Becker sent me my DREAM backpacking gear load-out! *UNBOXING*

In July of 2023, I took the risk of driving 6 hours non-stop to camp with someone I've never met. Equipped with my traditional heavy camping equipment, I made my way up the trail to the campsite ‪@DanBecker‬ was staying at, of which he had shared the coordinates for just 24 hours prior. I was the only one to show up.
The experience paid off... in more ways than one. I had a great time talking to Dan and his editor & cameraman, Emmett. They expressed their concerns about the risk of sharing their location, and the excitement they felt once I had arrived (relieved that I wasn't an "crazy ax murderer"). After the hike out and lunch the following today, I was caught completely off guard when Dan not only handed me his Durston tent, but also promised to gift me everything I needed to start my backpacking journey. Between him and numerous outdoor companies, I now had my dream lineup of backpacking gear of my own.
I received the equipment in the mail over the course of the next two months, and I made this video to share with you all my excitement in opening it. What an awesome gear load out! Owen, if anyone deserved this gear, it is you! I know you will love using all of this great gear. The Sawyer squeeze works flawlessly! You'll love the Soto stove too! I have the Soto Windmaster, best little camp stove I've EVER had! The Nitecore NU 25 is a great headlamp, with several options, including red night light. It adjusts to several position and if you get some thin shock cord, you can make it fit into a small pocket easily. You got the NEMO Tensor Insulated Regular Wide, same as mine! I LOVE this pad as I'm a side sleeper! My husband and I also have the Helinox Chair Zero and wouldn't go hiking without them! You will appreciate the chair with a back on it and you can sit in it and cook too!

You are an absolutely adorable young man. I watched the video when Dan put out the feelers to see who might come and meet him. It was such an inspiring and uplifting thing to watch. Dan keeps it real; it was apparent he was nervous. I think another commenter hit the nail on the head, it must have been written in the stars for you guys to meet. Looking forward to seeing your adventures. Keep your nose to the grindstone with what you have going on, especially college. Don't stress about putting out content or worrying about equipment to film. A phone does a great job. Everyone will be looking forward to what you put out, when you can. Dan's the man! I highly recommend grabbing a pack or two of Tenacious Tape Reflective. Still great for repairs, but also, a little strip of it on the various black and drab colored gear makes breaking camp at first light so much easier when it glows like a beacon with even a dim headlamp. Plus, if you ever need a rescue, all that gear becomes nighttime visibility to help them find you.
