My favorite moment from this video was the shot of the steam-billowing cooling towers outfitted with red anti-collision lights silhouetted against the night sky. Like Will mentioned, they totally gave off the Mothman vibe and were just perfectly creepy and tailor made for this setting. At the beginning of the video when they're in the car, you can see a red light in the sky. I couldn't figure out if it was a windshield reflection of something in the car or one of those cooling towers in the distance, but it looked like the mothman flying around their car. I also wonder what that light was that was zooming back and forth across the sky underneath the helicopter they were filming.

Man, footage of going through the woods day or night is so nice to watch. I mean, the woods you were at probably isn't that pretty during the day, but still. It's probably because I live in a desert and anything really green excites me. Good work guys and congrats on the 100k milestone!

I was hoping you'd mention the collapse of Silver Bridge, which occurred in December, '67. With PP already on edge over Mothman, the bridge collapse was/still is blamed on the creature. Obviously, there was a structural malfunction of the bridge but with over 40 people killed it certainly adds to the creepiness factor of PP.
@TheSWolfe8 жыл бұрын
+Cynthia Simpson As was I, esp. since the Mothman legend has him sighted balancing atop the bridge shortly before its collapse.

The area was a camouflaged factory for makin TNT (trinitrotoluene explosive) durin the war. It was a very big compound with domes and quonsets and was abandoned durin the UFO/Mothman flap of 1967. Couples used to "park" (read "spark") at the abandoned TNT factory.

I have spent a LOT of time in McClintic hunting & fishing over the past 22 years. I hunted raccoon at night by myself more times than I can count. I have never seen or heard anything out of the ordinary. I have been all over that place as well. Not just certain spots. There are 4 old, old cemeteries in McClintic also. I believe it is 4. Maybe 3, I don't know. I know OW of 3 for sure. The oldest one has head stones marked as early as early/mid 1800's. The death dates were in the early/mid 1800's I should say. It is a creepy place to visit but I'm 98% certain you will not see anything out of the ordinary in McClintic.

Where there is water, there are big birds. We live on a lake and didn't always have the big birds like blue heron, bald eagles and cranes...now we have all those, and more. The first times we started seeing these we were startled, but then we got used to them, and now look for them. As eco conditions improve, the wild life will follow. They were all probably just spooked by something they weren't used to. Love the legends though. Congrats on your following...don't let them turn you in to a TV show, THEY will rake control and ruin it. Keep up the good work, and quality.

"The woods are lovely, dark and deep and I have miles to go before I sleep".---Robert Frost. It may have been mentioned in earlier comment but when you were looking for the term for this place and you mentioned that it might be "munitions dump". You might be thinking of "munitions depot". When I was growing up in southern Indiana many cars had stickers on the bumpers reading "NAD Crane". Naval Ammunitions Depot. Why the Navy had a depot in southern Indiana: who knows!
@andrewbrendan15798 жыл бұрын
+Amy Jenkins I lived in Bloomfield in Greene County. Crane Base was to the south of us and included an area that overlapped least two county lines, large amount of land. I knew a family of German descent who lived there on the base during World War II. On the Fourth of July a patriotic aunt raised her homemade flag. Unfortunately it had a swastika on it! Her sister took it down and tore it up. She said, "This is not Germany, this Nazi!" The second aunt showed her own flag with the German eagle and said, "THIS is Germany!" Thankfully this early in the day before there would have been serious trouble. Whew!

I love these commentary videos the best. They are so much fun hearing you guys and all your experiences throughout. I would like however if you would allow us to hear any notable sounds you guys experience. Maybe stop the commentary for just that second where you heard something so we can hear what you mean. Or play it after you mention it on the commentary. That would be so cool. Thanks so much for this great footage! Such a treat.
