Shoutout to the Patels and the Executive Inn. They provided a safe place for me and my 4 kids to live for 3 years, until we could get out of Maryland and get home. Many low income motels provide safe havens for domestic abuse victims. It was back during the time you put out your "Crusty Pillows" video. My daughter and I passed you on the stairs. One of the cars in the back lot near the dead wing (which has since been removed) that you pointed out as being "old" was ours. Today we own our own home, no mortgage, and we live like normal people. We do still have the car. The boys (now men) rebuilt the engine and transmission. I am both very grateful for the time we spent at the Executive, and am very grateful I will never have to spend another night there. Thank you thank you thank you for uploading this!!!!

He was expecting the driver to come back and say something like "girl" or "good girl", but when he said "boyS" the guy was tipped off that the driver was a pretender and backed off.

Dan, I don't know how you make these videos so entertaining and beautiful to look at even though you're filming from your car in the most run down places. The slow pans across the motel rooms with the gorgeous cloudy moon in the background, its so good! There's a certain feeling attached to this video that I can't really explain. American cities has this kind of a movie-like charm to them that I find fascinating. The contrast between the rich and the poor is so extreme and visceral. It's extremely sad and yet somehow I find something beautiful in it.

That hotel look sketchy as f**k and those birds are loud even at night wow. By the way my mom works with homeless people in California in the Bay Area to get them on the right path and help get them a place to live. They struggle everyday trying to quit and my mom said most of the time it's a fentanyl problem that makes people act crazy. May God bless these souls because they really need help.
@ilanarhian7 ай бұрын
Your mom sounds amazing, I wish there were more people like her.
@Katyahbib7 ай бұрын
@@ilanarhian there's different parts of the job that do different things. There's a social worker job which is a lot harder and you take the clients to get their medications their shots or whatever they have for their mental problems or health issues. You can take them to get food you can give them bus passes which will tie them over until the end of the month because some clients don't have enough bus pass money in their social security. This section is for mostly seniors though there have been some clients in their 50s who qualified who aren't considered seniors. Anyways the social workers also like take him to the group therapy or their AA meetings or their therapy appointments to make sure they get on the straight path to a healthy living. You know or take them to those free food banks and stuff and you know you have to do a lot of driving around clients when you're a social worker. My mom said she's grateful she don't do that anymore and she works in just the housing department. A housing department basically will help the person to find a house and whatever they qualify for which could be a studio apartment or group home with other roommates that are like them or in a senior facility or whenever. Then make sure that the place is clean if they're living alone and things like that to make sure if they're living in a studio apartment or one-bedroom apartment they have maintenance worker fix problems or something like that and you know there's different like type of houses they can be in. And you know it can be exhausting for my mom. She said it was more exhausting working as a social worker part then working as a housing part. So she did say sometimes you get clients who scream because they don't like where they're living but when they burn all their Bridges and don't have anything left like for example one client the screen at my mom why did you put me in the effing ghetto I can't leave you effing put me here. Well it was the only place she qualified for and after that would be in a senior facility who has nurses and guards and she would not be able to be living alone and she'd have someone watch her or she'd be put into a group home with someone who cooks for the people there and at the front door there's someone that checks you in and out for when you leave every time you want to leave and every time you want to come back. So it depends on like your skills of what you need. No the clients who have like serious medical problems need a nurse. Some who can't live by themselves get put into the group home. Then there are some clients who get put into a one bedroom apartment or studio apartment because they've shown time and time again they can live alone so they can stay there the housing department isn't as bad as the social worker section but it can still be exhausting and it's a lot of work. So thanks. If you got this far down in my comment sorry it was long I just wanted to explain a little bit about the job and about one rude client.
