I like how Dan Brown connects the book's theory with real life intellectuals such as Sam Harris and Jeremy England. I greatly admire these two scientists in real life as they propose astonishing discoveries or theories that could potentially change our life. It's refreshing and exciting to read them in the novel. Also, the mention of Palmarian Church is very intriguing.

You are partially right..Inferno slumps in the middle but definitely comes out with flying colours and the plot twists..One more thing which I liked about inferno is that it fills the reader with lots of details and exquisite architecture and arts..Kinda boring in the middle though..But once I swam through it I felt it worth the muddy puddle.

I wonder if Edmond Kirsch realized that he introduced "Purpose" when he told his emulation to dissipate energy at all cost. It kind of defeats every "atheists" argument he makes in his "religious world shaking" presentation. Can't help to think that a scientist of his caliber and devoted atheist should have thought about it. The irony about the Kirsch "created" AI is that it makes a hidden case for creation rather than evolution. I enjoyed the book so....maybe a little predictable but very good story telling.
