DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult freak. The two of them start talking after Momo rescues Okarun from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them - Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make the mutual deniers believe in each other, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal activity that transcends comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to challenge the paranormal forces! Their fateful love begins as well!?

I hope it gets that far, that's like chapter fifty, 12 episodes is usually about 25 chapters (although i'm simplifying because this accounts for a romance not a shounen). in any case I’m absolutely bubbling for the alien globalists arc, which we will get to, because I trust science saru (I got told that mappa had taken it but they melted down YES) even though we were all hoping for bones to take it for their work on mob psycho 100, and the yutapon cubes. we need yutapon cubes in dandadan I’m gonna make a counter

Nowadays, I care so little for anime that I'll rarely even watch adaptations of my favourite manga. I make exceptions when the adaptation goes above and beyond to capture the spirit of the source material, that way I don't feel like I'm merely retreading the same material. Kaguya is a good example. As is Konosuba. And from the looks of things, Dandadan will be as well.
