Hi Dan Ger. Very good and Interesting videos covering bits of Leamingtons Oldest Parts . You may be interested in the fact I was brought up in a Old Blacksmiths Cottage at 43 Tachbrook Road . It was old , I believe one of the oldest buildings in that part of Leamington. When i was living there the landlord decided to improve the property . The old ash floorboards made from sawing the trunks of trees from about 1 inch to 2 inches thick and laying them down and filling in the gaps with smaller shards of the material. It was when they lifted the boards in the left hand bedroom I noticed some really thick coins embedded in the plaster . I was about 10 years old and had sneaked back in the cottage in the evening exploring with my mates as you do ! The coins turned out to be "cartwheel " halfpennies and pennies. The oldest being 1797 George 3 , Unfortunatly not worth a lot but I retained them as a keepsake.

It was the Leamington Home for Incurables. I did a pre nursing course placement there @ 1980 - 1981. I found it very hard when I first went there, but came to really enjoy the placement, very fulfilling. The tree is a Wellingtonia.

I remember performing carols for the residents in the Home that was there, around 1979/80 as part of 3rd Leamington St Johns cub pack

@@dan-ger6963 I used to play in the gardens as a child in the early seventies, my friends, Brendon and John Canty used to live in the house by the boiler rooms at the back of the building, it had a tall chimney, had my first ever alcoholic drink in the boiler house, a full brown glass bottle with a screw top of Woodpecker Cider, made me sick as a pig lol, we used to fish in the pond for the massive Pike that was supposed to inhabit the depths, Brendon had a Kestral that we used to train in the wooded area, fantastic memories thanks for posting....Pete
