I LOVE that Dan went back and addressed Stephens suppression of grief and encouraged him to deal with it bc he genuinely cares and knows the importance of doing so. Great interview.

My 1st time ever to comment on any podcast. I lost my older brother over 30yrs ago n still hurts. Watching this episode shows yall are everyday people. I’ve always admired Matt n Staxx. I grew up watching yall n always been a fan. I’m 43. Being a Texas boi I’ve watched Staxx cuz gotta root for my Texas players. I remember watching Dan on ESPN. Now that yall are together can’t wait to see what happens. My deepest condolences to all of you. I know y’all’s pain as I was next to my brother when he passed. Struck by lightning while visiting my grandparents in the country of Panama. From my experience the pain will never go away n all I can do is open up about it because by doing that it helps me grieve n I’m talking bout over 30yrs ago. Watching this made me want to say all this to yall. I don’t know yall but wanted to let yall know much love n I hope I can get a response from yall. God bless y’all.

Dan the pain of watching someone pass like that never fades. I watched my father in law go through ALS and seeing my wife and her family grieve while he slowly deteriorated in front of them was one of the bravest things I’ve seen. We all grieve in different ways. I pray that you carry it as strong as they do because I don’t think the grief ever goes away. To them it was somewhat a blessing, I know it’s sounds silly, after his passing they strive to live a fuller life in his honor. Seeing their strength just waking up and putting 2 feet in the ground, putting everything they have into the relationships and commitments they have, inspires me. Cause we know it can be just taken away in an instant.. you telling your story touched me and I hope you can heal and find the joy you have been seeking…

JUST WANTED TO SAY “THANK YOU” TO ALL 3 OF YOU…Mr. Dan Le Batard, Mr. Stephen Jackson, and Mr. Matt Barnes! I’m going through the sudden loss of a younger brother and it was hard to listen to you guys open up about your losses and how you have dealt with and are dealing with them. I wasn’t expecting to catch such a deep segment. I tuned in, thinking I was going to just hear some more behind-the-scene funny stories… But thank you! Hearing about the “isolation” thing hit home and it’s probably the thing that’s been the hardest to not fall into… It’s hard because life doesn’t prepare you for anything close to losing a family member unexpectedly…and it’s different for everybody… Stay raw and stay real! You all will reach whatever peak your aiming for, when your that authentic and personal. Thanks again. It’s hard to be that open/authentic and personal behind closed doors, let alone in front of a camera.
