His humble beginnings and his humbleness about where he is now is what made him great to listen to. The biggest divide between them was that Shannon wanted more say in the planning of the show, but Skip had a stranglehold on that because he is basically the show planner. Skip is the show, and the topics and discussions are all chosen by him and it's written in a way where he has the last word and can't lose. Both play almost a cartoon character. When trying to find another co-host, the new co-host is going to have to be ok with skip choosing all of the topics and having FULL creative control. Skip has full control, that’s why every single show, the Dallas Cowboys have to be discussed as well as Lebron James or other topics Skip loves or hates strongly. They’ll be great games played on Sunday and they won’t be discussed, because there needs to be an entire block dedicated to the cowboys. The sad part about people commenting on this is people who clearly don’t watch their show undisputed. They stopped touching fists during covid when they first got to be back in the studio together, as a show of social distancing. They never went back to touching fists since like 2021. So for it to somehow be reported by multiple media outlets that “oh they aren’t even touching fists now!” like its new, just shows you that people are given talking points to discuss without actually knowing much about what they are discussing.

I'm pretty sure if Skip continues with Undisputed, he will stick to the current formula that has been working... A former athlete (prob Basketball or Football and had at least a moderate level of success) who is: (or will become) a Dallas Cowboys foil, has new school sensibilities (i.e. Lebron better than Jordan/ Mahomes can challenge Brady's goat status), is in a minority group to give the show and Skip cred among those viewers and doesn't yet have a large group of followers/is new to the media game.
