In itself, the film explains the growth of a child, becoming an adolescent and eventually, an adult. The fly recalls to the destiny, the nutshell to the uncertainty of the future while the hand reflects childhood, a part of ourselves with its memories inside. At the end of the movie, the hand realizes its owner has transformed in a mature person, who can manage his future. It is left back, the past is left back and the rebuilding of his life can start.

The tapes had always been a self-destructive reminder to him of how he is just a mere victim of his own circumstances. But his final drastic step sets him free and liberates him from the noxious memories of his past. With this, even the hand realizes that its owner has moved on ahead with his life and won’t be needing it anymore. While the hand slowly drifts away into the darkness, Naoufel realizes that he may not always get everything in life, but he must learn to go with the flow and take life as it comes to him. In the end, both, the hand and the main character, learn to accept that they will always be leaving behind a part of them with all of life’s stumbling blocks, but that does not mean that they should stop practicing their own free will.
@0815881015 жыл бұрын
@@shovonmondal9773 Your last sentence is important. The final scene also emphasizes the significance of free will, the danger to risk the big jump and challenge destiny, not just accepting it. Its a matter of balance i guess, going with the flow and challenge destiny sometimes.
@ElAjuanado5 жыл бұрын
I wanna say something since there is another comment talking about their point of view, and while I'm not saying he is wrong, I have a different opinion about the movie... To me the movie is about the acceptance of loss, and not just the lost of his parents, but loss in general. Him recording over the sound of his parents dying is the perfect example of him understanding and coming to accept the death of the parents, the leap is explaining his view of destiny and he even mentions it to the girl when they were talking on the rooftop, and the hand finding the body is the same acceptance, because after all that suffering and struggle to get to the body, it didn't end with him, it didn't attatch to the body, and the hand to me had nothing wrong with that outcome, the hand was "accepting" as well the loss of the body. That's what makes this movie so beautiful to me and a garanteed Oscar
@prashantjha38124 жыл бұрын
Hey Man I have the same viewpoint. I also believe that the symbolism in the hand reaching the body and not able to reconnect shows that despite working hard and giving everything doesn't always mean you will get it and one should be ready to accept it.

I agree. The loss of the hand made me very uncomfortable. It hurt me for all that it meant. I was moved by the mixture of memories of touch, trauma and the loss of parents. The film is cruel to the protagonist but it left me a feeling of peace, tenderness and tranquility.

One of the most beautiful soundtracks, perfect for this masterpiece.
@bertoltbread4 жыл бұрын
This movie centres around the abstract nature of "leap of faith". You never know what is on the other side. You never know what a new day has in store for you. You never know what the past memories can trigger you to do/achieve. This movie is brilliant as it makes you believe that it follows a traditional plotline but it doesn't; it is simply the juxtapositioning of the present narrative with the past. The ambivalent ending of this masterpiece makes you introspect more which helps you connect the dots with your own personal life which could act as a motivating factor. Yes, the soundtrack just beautifully resonates with the plotline giving a deeper cathartic effect.

There is a fear of failure and loss in human beings. And as long as, we do not accept it even if we work hard for it, trying to be who we are not meant to be or get what we do not deserve, by any mean, we will never continue to live our destiny thus the hard decision to give up (acceptance) and restart fresh a new life, is the only option... Because at the end of the movie we do not see him anymore after he jumped on the tower crane 🏗 , and everything is left behind, the girl, his hand, the recorder and the igloo, everything. He has moved on to his second life, he’s completely gone... Learn to know yourself and what you want in life and go for it without looking back... We can dribble fate, run and never look back... I myself went bungee jumping and now I’m living my second life ♥️ (thanks that this anime came to life)
