The South African guitar virtuoso Dan Patlansky has been the support act for Joe Satriani’s last twenty five dates of this European Tour. PATLANSKY was selected by the legendary Satriani as special guest on the European and UK legs of his Shockwave Tour 2015 taking in twenty five shows across ten countries from 9 October to 10 November 2015.

I'm a young film student from Romania wanting to be a director, I moved from a small town from the north into the loud and trashy capital in south, just to pursue what I love. I have been struggling with the money, moving around, no friends and I fucking love all of it. The fucking desperation, juxtaposition of loneliness and hope it's pure gold and I know for a fact some day I will miss it because I will accomplish all and there will be no hunger, and hunger is the key. When he first starts playing up until he starts singing what I'm getting or what it sounds a lot like to me is Clapton's playing on the Rush soundtrack. When he gets into the solo there's definitely a very strong Stevie Ray Vaughn influence in there without a doubt!! I just ran across this guy literally when I clicked on this video. The only thing I can't understand is why have I never heard of this guy!! His playing is phenomenal and he has a fantastic blues voice!!

I saw Dan playing for the first time ten years ago in a small venue called "Fogey's" above the Muizenberg train station. This song was the stand out. I'd never seen anyone handle a guitar like that before. I guess you say from that night on I became a student of the blues. Love this guy to bits. So very talented and a really cool fella.
