Just received the physical book - the two inside covers do include a map of Middenheim.

For a sourcebook about a city to not have a two page or inside cover spread map of that city is a strange design decision indeed.

The map is sold separately. Let it not be thought that C7 isn’t trying to make a buck

Agreed on the maps. 4th edition seems to be really hit and miss on maps. We've got the fantastic Reikland map in the core book (and seemingly everywhere else) but nothing as far as a complete map of the Empire or anything detailed on the Old World. However, I do hold out some hope that the physical copy will have a map on the inside cover. They did this with Death on the Reik where Castle Wittgenstein was added to the rear inside cover. Both this and Power Behind the Throne require an A3/double spread Middenheim map.

I don't remember the name, but based on your description this must be the city where Gotrek & Felix set anchor at with The Spirit of Grungni in Book 3.

Cubicle 7 ended up making a Power Behind the Throne Companion book. Do you still recommend this book or do you think the companion book is a better alternative?

It depends. The old one has better maps, but the new one has better info on important NPCs. The new one is also waaaay prettier, if that matters to you, and of course is updated for 4e rules.

@@danwells9305 im running wfrp with 4th ed and will start the Enemy Within campaign tonight. I dont have the 4th ed of Power Behind The Throne so i dunno if the old middenheim book will suffice with the new vers of that part of the campaign. Thank you for your answer! Once we get to Pbtt I hope the new pdf will be discounted :D
