Dan Reviews: The Iron Kingdoms

One of my favorite wargames also has a fantastic RPG. A nice mix of old favorites with cool new innovations, including an awesome two-class system. And of course the setting is incredibly rich and detailed.

The protectorate aren't villains as often as Khador, however the protectory are truly neutral, but in that they have extreme evil and good, to balance to the middle. The Harbanger and her paladins are quite good, and Reznik and the testament are quite evil.

It's a great one, especially if you're a fan of the minis game. The combat system is almost a one-for-one translation.

I've only played some Warmachine starter set games, loved it! I've played Menoth and Khador. I just ordered the Iron Kingdoms rulebook, before they sell out, since the next edition will be a D&D 5ed game (which I'll probably also buy).

Going to 5e is a good move, business-wise, but I'll miss their homebrew edition.
