First KISS album I bought. Love it. High school friend died of cystic fibrosis and had Heaven's on Fire played at his funeral :)

Thanks for the review! I've always loved Animalize, to the point it's become my 2nd favorite album from KISS! Paul's songs are all spot on for me. I've Had Enough, Get All You Can Take, and Under the Gun are insanely underrated. As for the Gene songs, they're kinda guilty pleasures for me. Burn Bitch Burn, dumb lyrics but love the Riff and the groove. Lonely Is the Hunter I've actually grown to like, though it's my least favorite on here. Also like Murder In High Heels for the Riff and the groove. I love the sound and the direction this album took. Personally, I think Gene's worst album is Crazy Nights, I don't care for any of his songs on that album

Hahahahaha! And that's why I was hesitant of doing this review at first... I knew you loved the album! :) But, alas, I cannot tell a lie and it's nowhere near the top for me (but still a decent score)... As for Gene's songs on CN... you see, i like those ones... one that I actually LOVE out of the 4 (and none that I love off of Animalize)... hehehehe, could be a fun topic for a future episode: "What 80's KISS albums have the weakest Gene Songs?" :)

@offthecharts2272 I will say, as far as the era Gene was checked out on (Animalize, Asylum, Crazy Nights) I think Asylum was Gene's strongest album there.... Paul was strong on all but Animalize to me was his best... and that might be a deciding factor for me because Paul has always been my favorite member!

The problem with Animalize, Asylum and Crazy Nights is that even though it was good hard rock and pop rock, half of the 3 albums appeared to be filler songs! None of these 3 could hold a matchstick to Creatures or Lick It Up !

I agree with you mostly... but Asylum holds a special place for me as it was the first album of KISS I bought when it came out... with my own money... so that one is actually my second fave KISS album... but I'm with you with the rest! :)

Been a fan since day one. Seen them here in Vegas (1975) with Rush at the Sahara Space Center/Hotel...I like this album, especially under the gun and ive had enough. The one KISS album that i can stand is hot in the shade.

Not a huge fan of this album at all: IHE(ITF) is just ok for me, I can't say it's memorable. HOF love it. Best song on the album by a HUGE stretch. This will sound harsh, but they should have just released this as a non-album single, and not bothered with the rest. BBB not the worst Simmons song ever, it's mediocre. GAYCT another song that isn't memorable unfortunately. Doesn't register for me. LITH it's barely an 'ok' song. UTG throwaway song. TITN another rare Stanley song that I like. WTCS Yawn (Sorry, couldn't resist) MIHH throwaway song. HOF & TITN are the only songs I can really remember in any detailed way. HOF is one of my top 15 Kiss songs. I won't rate the album because I don't really like it, and I don't want to insult any Kiss fans 🙂 Have you ever reviewed the 4x solo albums? I reckon you and I would differ wildly on those albums!

I still think there are good songs on Animalize…. But as you could see, it’s prolly my 2nd least favorite of their catalog as explained in this episode… I did do a sort of rating for the solo albums…. Im sure my rating doesn’t match most ppl’s rating of the solo albums either…. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️
