Don't remember where I got it from, but I got the debut, Yesterday & Today, back in the '70s! I liked it, so when I saw their 2nd album somewhere, I grabbed that, too. Heard nothing more, but in the '80s got the song, "Mean Streak," on a metal compilation album & liked that, but still didn't immediately realize it was the same band. Shortly after getting that song I read or heard they switched to initials & felt special that I had the old band in my collection. Saw the video for "Summertime Girls" on MTV, since it was a hit in U.S. (& taped it because of all the bikini girls in it. LOL). Also saw a live concert by them aired on MTV with that metal robot guy onstage. 🤖

If you like early Alice Cooper and New York sleaze rock you must be aware of the Throbs masterpiece LANGUAGE OF THIEVES... which is my favourite from the genre after AFD produced by Bob Ezrin. Geffen dropped them despite a European tour with the gigs selling out in a flash and as I remember it was the hottest ticket in town that year, along with other used and abused Geffen casualties, The Nymphs. But despite being poized for success with a sell out tour and glowing record reviews in the rock magazines, the record hadn't sold millions within the first 6 months (even GN'R took a while to blow up, Sweet Child was released three times here in the UK before it charted) and with it bring the year of Nirvana, rock fans couldn't possibly like a variety of rock styles, although I remember the likes of GNR and the Crowes co-existing in perfect harmony with the likes of Jane's Addiction, so it really was unfair to assume the rock fans couldn't appreciate something with quality over what happened to be the flavour of the day, so these guys who had the best guitar player i've ever seen were thrown away like Vain, Electric Angels, Rock City Angels and so many more , a second album was recorded but not released until recently on ITunes, with a name change to The Vibes and a new singer and drummer, I think the 'Second' album is quite decent. They did release a video at the time for a song called 'MUDSLIDE' which brings to mind the Black Crowes and late 60's/70's Stones, Hendrix, Cream etc. Roger plays like Izzy and Slash rolled into one badass guitar slinger wasted for the sake of grunge fashion like so many other musicians and song writers. Rock City Angels made two amazing albums that just got released on ITunes but how criminal to treat musicians this way. Geffen wanted either grunge or slick produced pop rock like Aerosmith and wasted young and talented lives by offering support and then pulling the rug, leaving them all up shit creak without a paddle! At least we got to watch the video for black hole sun 50,000 a day in the 90's! So, please cover the Throbs/Vibes, or RCA, or the second Vain album unreleased for years. Ditto Electric Angels! There's almost nothing on the web about the Vibes but I think the recordings deserve more attention.
