Yeah. What happened to him is wrong but I have a sneaking suspicion that Bell only came out in the doc to take some heat off his own predator problems. I mean those parents were gaslit into thinking it was a nice environment too. Metoo movement wasn't around, an average naive Joe wouldn't know about the predatory nature of Hollywood back then. Olivia's take about the mom of Drake Bell's ex girlfriend is incomplete. She was the first adult to notice that something was off, BUT she did not "save his life". She got him into one or two therapy sessions, and he downplayed everything in therapy. It was much later on as he was continuing to spiral, that he had a meltdown on a phonecall with his own mother and shared everything. Then his own mom finally stepped up and contacted the authorities.

fun fact: Drake bell was on probation for texting a minor inappropriately for two years while his his past abuser, Brian Peck, a repeated child rapist, was in prison for only 16 months. I don’t think she will ever be in the mental space to do it. It’s hard to come out publicly and share the most intimate details of your childhood and all the horrible and disgusting things that have ever happened to you. I think drake bell talking about it was his way to move on and let it go. But I think Amanda Bynes, will never come forward. Considering the backlash drake was given by fellow child stars. He claims he never had physical contact with a minor, who had lied about her age. He claims he stopped texting her once she revealed her age. What he took accountability for was he plead guilty for felony to attempted child endangerment and misdemeanor of sending sexual matter that can harm a minor. He never served time only probation . There was no evidence found for SA after a 3 year investigation.

The thing that confused me about the doc was the conclusions were missing. Especially with Amanda. Were they saying she was abused by Dan and this caused her mental snap? Were they saying Dan put too much stress on Amanda and this caused her mental issues? At one point they were insinuating it was the parents. But what if it was genetic and inevitable?

Even when I was kid I remember thinking “what’s with the feet” like it was every commercial, every show, and every sign (remember the Nick sign was a foot for a long time) had - at more than one point - reference to feet.
