What interesting insights are you referring to? That Larry Bird gains weight by eating wedding cakes?
@wmden12 жыл бұрын
@@davidr4523 I might say; interesting and kind of comical, minutia; like Bird is cheap, he let Robie drag him around till late at night, and Robie got traded because of it, yes, and he ate wedding cake as common snacks. Not important, but amusing, which was most of the point of the interview, if there was one.
@Adiscretefirm2 жыл бұрын
"Bird noticed everything" of course he did, he knew where all 9 guys on the court were at game speed, you're not going to slip anything past him in the locker room or on the bus.

Chestnut Hill is a village and part of Brookline MA. Robert Kraft and Family, Tom Brady etc, lived there. Very wealthy neighborhood, obviously, but Bird would mow his own lawn and folks would gather to watch.

People saw Larry mowing his lawn. But that was a disguise. He was really in training for the next game.

@@andybilakshow260 No doubt. Larry refused to pay to have something done, if he could do it himself. That's how he cooked his back. A $10k driveway, cost him millions.

@@spooge33 yeah, I got the whole scoop way back when. Well maybe not everything. But for sure the most common talked about. IMHO, if people don't have Larry as #1, they don't really have a mindset in deciding anything basketball related. He could find a workaround to beat anybody.

Judging by Larry's responses to questions just like that (even when he was only in his 40's), I doubt that. And he'd be the first to say so. The interview he gave Dan Patrick was great. Dan told him that Jordan said he could beat anybody on his Hornets roster in a one-on-one. Larry just laughed, and said, "No way. At some point, you gotta just let it go". Then Dan said could YOU beat MJ one-on-one right now? Bird said, "I'm old, I'm out of shape, everything hurts, and I just don't have the fire I had back then." Then he paused and said, "But it'd be really close" then busted out laughing again.

Fame is great until you want some privacy or quiet time. And, when you come to the end of your very public road, why not "turn off the taps?" I think Mr Larry "Legend" Bird has most definitely earned the right to a bit of personal space to do nothin' but listen to the birds and drink a beer 🤔
