Its Dan Tyminski playing from a pure soul and he has 12 thousand subscribers and 4 comments here. Meanwhile videos of people putting on make up have millions of hits. Some things in this world are so very wrong.

KZbin is a business, a lot of the high sub channels make it a full time business. I suspect playing music is much more important to Dan than YT. Bluegrass is an offshoot of mainstream music, it's listeners much more refined and subtle. It is simple music, but very hard to do well. The comments here explain it better than I can.

I always thought and still do think Doc Watson was the greatest flat picker and gentleman of our time. Thank you for acknowledging him and playing in his style. I don’t think enough younger folks realize what an inspiration he was to so many. Again Thank You!

Live just down the road from Tom and Laura’s resting places. The truth of it is an intriguing story. Everyone has their own theory of what truly happened including me. Tom supposedly wrote this himself while in jail waiting to hang according to some accounts. New York papers covered the story. Wonderful rendition of the song by Dan and paying tribute to the one and only Doc. Enjoyed it! Thanks

Dan's approach to music somehow reminds me of "bringing it all back home". He takes a traditional song, plays it, sings it, gives it full justice. It's all we want.

Dan, what is your preferred capo? Been playing for, well, over 40 years now, but I've never really felt comfortable using one much because of the lack of tightness (causing fret noise, etc.). I noticed in some of your performances a very slim one, ever so slightly slanted toward the fret on the bass strings. Was hoping you could shed some light on the matter. Thank you.

Dan ought to come visit Statesville, NC where Tom Dula was tried, convicted and hanged for killing Laura Foster. Also, the Dillards' "Dooley" is not a different version of this song, it's a totally different song, and a good one. Love this video though. That is some fine pickin! Dan is the man.
