Dana Doctor Memorial

One of 'The Boys' has gone home ....
With a heavy heart we say goodbye to one of our dearest and oldest friends... Dana Doctor passed after a very brief illness. His children and family were there by his side. Today the drum corps world has lost one of it's greatest member. The Kingsmen, Ghost Riders, St Joe's Alumni, St Joe's Brass Ensemble - and so many more - including us, the Nano Bari's will sorely miss his dedication and talents.
Here's to Dana ....
And there’s a hand my trusty friend!
And give me a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

Hi Tory, you don't know me, but in 1995 and 96 your dad was the brass line instructor at my high School, First Colonial, in Virginia Beach, VA. My name is Scott Trebes. Your dad, or Doc as we all called him was such an amazing man. He was a bit surly and just a little crass at times, but wonderful. He was kind to me and my friends and looked after some of our less popular band students. To this day, he is one of only 5 people I let call me Scotty. I will miss that. Please know that our band loved him most dearly. It breaks my heart to hear of his passing. I'll never forget him and will always think of him with a smile. My deepest condolences to you and your family for your loss. I hope your upcoming holiday season is filled with warm memories.

I know Dana from the time I march with the southern nights Drum and Bugle Corps in Virginia Beach Virginia he was one of the founding member of the southern nights.
