If PPVs were even $50 bucks again I’d buy most of them. I had 2-3 buddies who we would rotate houses. One guy would buy the PPV and host, another guy would bring a case and some weed, another guy would bring some takeout. Everyone ended up putting down $40-50 and we would just rotate the next event to someone else’s house and who brought what. I’d love to get back to that. At $70-80 a PPV is too fuckin much though

Most of the rich people are connected to the ESPN or the ufc in some way. Ppv is ancient business model in 2024. Make ESPN+ 19.99 a month and include ppv’s. That will stop most of the piracy and they’ll make a lot more money.

Jones has been hiding down at LHW his entire career with the same height/reach as Francis Ngannou. He took fights vs literal Middleweights rather than moving up to make super fights with Cain Velasquez, Fabricio Werdum, Anthony Johnson or Francis(not to mention Stipe in his 30's). He wouldn't move up to fight DC who started their trilogy at 36 and had a harder time each fight making weight. When Dana got rid of the WFW division it didn’t take away from fighters accomplishments in that division. When he gets rid of the FLW division that won’t undermine all that fighters have ever done there historically. That won’t undermine Mighty Mouse. The same way defunct OW/CW Super and Tourney titles are not to be undermined. Thats what they had at the time. It’s not Vitor’s fault. Regardless he still captured an available world title at the time and you can’t erase that. Whether he captured a Interim or Unified, WSW, WFYW, WBW, WFW, FYW, BW, FW, LW, WW, MW, LW, LHW, HW or CW title and by what way and path he captured it makes no difference. A title is a title. He was a CW champion period. The championship existed. He was 19 when he took home a world title and it happened in the UFC. They said Jon Jones is the “YOUNGEST EVER” in “UFC HISTORY” meaning EVER in any division in the entirety of the UFC and it’s just simply not true. Vitor was 19 when he captured his first world title. Jones was 22 when he captured his first world title. The division, format and name is just irrelevant. People need to stop playing with semantics. Vitor Belfort is the “youngest champion in the UFC’s history” period. The UFC was a tournament then and it’s still a tournament now just as the name of the company says it’s a “CHAMPIONSHIP”. Just because the tournament changed from a bracket style to a ladder style and went from multiple fights a night to a single fight a night doesn’t mean it’s no longer a tournament. The UFC was, is, and always will be a tournament.
