The lack of a relationship with his parents is the reason Dana doesn’t pay his fighters and it doesn’t effect him that a lot of these fighters are throwing their lives away trying to be a MMA fighter. He has no problem gambling hundreds of thousands of dollars while his fighters can barely pay the bills.

Very sad to even hear this interview coming from a Christian standpoint. Of course I’m not the man’s judge but he has the classic atheist mentality, you die and that’s it, you’re done. Given that he came from an Irish-Catholic background he was exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ but never set it in his heart perhaps by the way they were teaching the Gospel or in combination with his childhood upbringing. This as a pastor I see so much that about 95% or higher come to be atheists in their lives with that type of upbringing. I definitely pray for the man that as he’s around many UFC fighters who are Christians, perhaps that can possibly turn him to God rather than away.

It's very sad that he thinks the way he does about his parents. Even though he believes they were horrible, he doesn't have to forget but it would be better to forgive because they were flawed as all humans are as well as him. They did the best they could with what they knew and to carry that hatred in his heart is a big price to pay. It is painful to hate for him no matter how much he denies it. Forgiveness would end the hatred and he would feel better for it. You can disown your parents but still forgive them for your own peace.
