I just can't get behind people saying she dominated this fight. Yes, she won and was winning convincingly but you can win a fight on all cards but NOT dominate your opponent. Lemos was giving it to Weili and she had to keep the fight on the ground because Lemos was clearly better with her hands. Yes, she got caught with a big shot that dropped her but that happens in fights. I just believe that the entire UFC community did Women fighters a disservice last night. Instead of focusing on the skills of both fighters, they focused ONLY on what Weili was doing. They treated Lemos like she wasn't even in the fight. ALL highlights and talk was in favor of Weili. These two women are highly skilled and this could have elevated women to another level. She "dominated" the fight but could not, for the life of her, get Lemos out of there. Everything she tried, Lemos found a way to remain in the fight while remaining dangerous at the same time. Honestly, the commentary around this fight was disgusting. Lemos was NOT shown ANY respect. It was my first time watching Lemos and I walked away thinking this woman is INCREDIBLE! They should fight again but because of the biased narrative and commentary we won't get a second fight AND I do believe in a second meeting, Lemos would best Weili.

Go back to watching boxing. This is MMA. Even if you think Lemos was better with the hands, Weili was absolutely better everywhere else. Kicks, elbows in the clinch, wrestling, ground and pound. The strike count differential in this fight set a record. It's a title fight fight, the fighters are suppose to be highly skilled and competitive. Dictating where the fight goes and keeping the fight there is dominating. I assume you think Khabib wasn't dominant in most of his fights then, because he took them down.

I never said she wasn't better in the fight. I said she did NOT dominate. I DO NOT care about punch stats. A NOVICE such as yourself looks at that. It doesn't tell the whole story. I'm not taking anything away from Weili...she was great. Dominate? She was not. I'm speaking more on the one sidedness of the commentary. They showed NO highlights of Lemos, nor did they speak on anything she did well in the fight. It was completely BIAS. Even when Lemos was clearly better on the feet they said nothing about it.
