Arrondissemont 16th looks very close too even though it is a higher number. I was in 18th, 3 weeks ago but I am actually going to the 16th in just over a week. The 18th where we stayed the airbnb was nice enough but area seemed a bit rough. It was cheap. I think the one I am going to next will be best.

Does the store refund the items immediately? I’m reading that you get your refund upon exiting the country, like at the airport.

Great tips...ome thing that i leaned is about the shopping. Didnt know that you had to shop 3 consecutive days in a row. Just so im sure, it would be a minimum of $100 euros wach day correct ? Just want yo make sure because ill be going in September. Thanks Dana 😊
@DanaBerez9 ай бұрын
Yes! I just learned this also. It is 100 euros per retailer within the 3 consecutive days. You can also shop with the same retailer at two different stores/locations and counts towards the 100 euros. I think they allow shoppers to visit multiple stores of the same retailer (ie two different Zara or Louise Vuitton stores) in case of inventory issues for the items you are trying to secure.

I go to Paris every year since 2016 and Ive never heard of shopping 3 days in a row to get tax (VAT) back. Must stores just require a minimum amount spent.
@lisal.5866 ай бұрын
You must spend the minimum (more than 100 euros) on qualifying purchases within 3 consecutive days to qualify for the VAT refund.
@MollysMum-A.K.9 ай бұрын
Don‘t you have to pay customs when you return to the US? We Germans are only allowed to shop for 430€ and have to pay taxes when we shop more… it’s crazy…
@patriciateague86779 ай бұрын
I think the 3 day shopping rule is not correct. That may be the time frame needed to validate the receipts with your passport at a mall-type environment like Galeries Lafayette. For instance, if you are traveling in other EU countries you don't submit your VAT paperwork until you leave the EU. You have until the end of the third month following your purchase to leave the EU with the goods. It would hardly be possible to make all of your purchases only in a 3-day window. I know I read something once that sounded like that but don't see any mention of it on any official sites.
@DanaBerez9 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. The information shared is referencing the official website: www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passengers/services/tax-refund
@patriciateague86779 ай бұрын
@@DanaBerez Thanks. I'm still not sure how this is interpreted. In theory you could buy more than €100 in many 3 day periods not that you just have one 3 day window in your entire month's visit to France. The wording is not clear in my opinion.
@patriciateague86779 ай бұрын
@@DanaBerez I read another post on the 3 days and it refers to the 3 days allowing you to accumulate purchases over €100 at one store or multiple stores of the same brand. So that seems to tie to the reference in the link you provided. That doesn't mean you can only shop for 3 consecutive days of your stay. That makes alot more sense to me.
@DanaBerez9 ай бұрын
@@patriciateague8677 I really, really appreciate your comment. However, I advise EVERYONE to do your OWN research. This is NOT a Paris and/or EU VAT Refund-specific tutorial or video. Have a blessed day!

Oh I definitely wouldn't drink the tap water in Paris.

You can definitely drink the tap water in Paris. It is what the restaurants serve you when you don't want to pay for sparkling water or bottled water (which is often more expensive than the wine). I've been to Paris at least 12 times over the past 25+ years and have never been sick form drinking tap water there.
@Esoterica998 ай бұрын
@@hal7469 Just because you didn't get sick doesn't mean it's safe as far as heavy metals and other substrates goes. No one would get sick drinking tap water in first world countries, it's just that you wouldn't want to consume the things that might be in the water. Paris water is known for heavy calcium and rust content, and if you ever washed your hair once you'd know that the water is damaging to your hair. You'd have fried hair after a few washes. I don't know if I'd ever drink the water just to save a few bucks.

As soon as I saw your hotel in the 7th I knew it was Hotel Muguet which you linked 🩷 We stayed there in September, unfortunately for only 3 days because we continued traveling south and into Italy. I can’t recommend this little hotel enough! The rooms are beautifully decorated and although on the small side, it was plenty of room for us and our things. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We needed an iron so they actually took us down to a utility room where we were able to use an industrial style steam iron. We upgraded to a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower (it almost looked like the one you show in this video) and it was everything we wanted. The metro is a short walk away as well as Rue Cler. I would love to try a different arrondissement next time but I’d love to stay at Hotel Muguet again 😉 Thanks for this video. I just love your videos and Paris 🩷
