Day trips : it is technically possible to go to Lyon or Bordeaux or Marseille by the first train and come back by the last. The TGV (High Speed Train) will take you from city centre to city centre in two to three hours, zipping along at 200 mph (worth the ride, you won't find any of those in the States). Bordeaux is very beautiful Marseille is by the Mediterranean sea, Lyon is the capital of food and a very nice place. There's also Strasburg and even Brussels and Lille in the north, all connected to Paris by High Speed Trains. London if you must ;-)

Just found your site and subscribed. I took my first, long-awaited trip to Paris back in May. You packed a lot of good info in a relatively short video- I'll make sure to recommend your site to others!

Wow, thank you so much! This is the BEST compliment 🥰 How was your first trip to Paris? Did you have any "pinch me because I can't believe I'm here" moments?

Thanks for the info! Question 1: Is RER-B ticket different from the Metro ticket? 2: Is RER ticket for one way only Thank you!
@FrolicAndCourageАй бұрын
Hey John, thanks for watching! To answer your questions: 1) It depends 😅 you can use a metro ticket (t+ ticket) to ride the RER B train in zone 1 (city center of Paris) only. If you want to take the RER-B outside of zone 1 you need an île de France point-to-point ticket that covers your travel zone(s). 2) You can purchase a one-way or round trip RER ticket. Just know of you purchase one round trip ticket it will print two one-way tickets. Hope this helps!

My advice for getting around : avoid taxis if you can, traffic is horrible and it will take forever. Take the metro, but check on your map app how long it takes to walk and walk if you can, you'll see so much more. Remember : it's a holiday, you can't see everything anyway, so take time to take in the city ! And welcome to Paris, we hope you like our city.

What to wear when you go there in march
@FrolicAndCourage8 күн бұрын
It might be a little cold and rainy, wear layers and shoes that can withstand water 😊

Just found your video at the perfect time. We are visiting Paris for first time with our 2 little kids (3 and 6 years) at the beginning of September. We do t know where to stay in Paris? Le Marais and St Germain or any other recommendations? We will be spending 6 nights in Paris and would really appreciate if you can just summarize how should we plan to visit major landmarks. Thanks in advance.

How exciting! My first trip to Paris was 6 days, too, and I had a blast 😊 I made a separate video about where we stayed and included a few other helpful suggestions here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5qpmYyHe86pkJI I’d really focus on crafting a good itinerary using google maps so you can see the major sights in relation to your hotel and other activities. How much time you spend at each is up to you, but in the video I listed a few sample itineraries that will allow you to see most sights in about 5 days (you can slow it down for 6 days 😊).

I'm glad you like our town. Just this : "rive" doesn't mean river, it means "bank" and "right" for a female object like a river bank (in French) is spelt "droite", not "droit" (which is for male objects). AND there is no dash. So "rive gauche" and "rive droite" stand for "left bank" and "right bank". It's also not entirely true that nobody cares what you're wearing. Wear jeans and a t-shirt and loafers or nice trainers, but avoid sports or hiking attire, they scream tourist and turn you into a target for scammers (you'll not get mugged, but your pockets will be picked !). On the other hand, do not overdress, you're not going to a wedding and Parisians (like myself) never dress up. If it looks like you made a special effort, you got it wrong. Sorry, we are a special kind of snobbish.
