That's what makes him interesting in a way. Everyone treats his ability that makes him invincible but at the same time he suffers the same treatment like his brothers do: his gift alienates himself from other people. Baldur couldn't enjoy life's pleasures since he feels nothing so he can't be happy with others. Thor's strength and kills are all he has to boast about but he's looked down upon because it seems like killing is all he's good at and nothing else during peacetime. Heimdall's gift to read people's intentions meant everyday he would read what people think and he's forced to expect the worst from people. Their culture is ironically toxic to Odin's family and their powers have damaged their relationship with people while Odin abuses their talents.

What I like about Heimdall is that he is so unnacostumed to defeat, struggle and pain, that his identity is completely shattered for a split second, causing him to beg for mercy as he gets stabbed in the arm. However, he is intelligent, he is strong, and he is proud. After having a breather, that pride of him causes him to go into denial after humiliating himself, which is why he accuses Kratos of giving him mercy, and becomes so angry. He is just as mad at Kratos as he is at his own self, but he channels it all towards his opponent.

Heimdall has zero right to act surprised that he got to see what the Greeks did of Kratos. He did everything he physically could to generate the response he got. The only one who was asking for it harder was Baldur, and that was mostly because he was literally suicidal.

Both Baldur and Heimdall's killings were intended to instill a sense of pity into us that it has to be done in order for the characters to become better people but the writers wrote Heimdall a little too good in being a prick that killing him was completely satisfying to do like in the older games lol

All Heimdall weaknesses: 1-surprise attacks and unexpected ones. 2-Stunning attacks and flash lights. 3-Wide attacks that engages the entire area into combat. Kratos played on the second one and the first one later in the fight. Thor would have relied on the third one as always, when he told Heimdall to "try and find out". Not to forget that lightning speed is the fastest in the universe, time won't be that affective to Heimdall.

Heimdall is my type of character I love snarky, sassy trash talkers. I can't blame him for the way he is he can see people for who they are and he as an abusive father. I'm sure all the kids have experience abuse from Odin in some form or another. For Heimdall it seems he constantly wants to prove himself. On top of his foresight people probably stayed cleared of him so this made him distant with others. Kinda wish he had a change of heart I'm sure he ignored what his father really was but if you think about it all he had was probably his father. The first moment I saw him I immediately knew new he was going to be my next fictional husbando.

Heimdall’s boss fight is surprisingly difficult for a story boss. I am level 7 yet i almost lost to the fight (granted it is my first time playing and i was kinda reckless oh and i previously faced off against that boss Wulver before getting to him with no healing/rage stones afterwards). The fight is probably harder than thor’s second fight and odin’s.

random heimdall headcanons with minimal to no explanation: 1. heimdall cannot read odin’s mind at all which is why he acts so surprised when odin, the ALL KNOWING, acts like he didn’t know heimdall was to his right. 2. he also cannot read the minds of animals. 3. odin purposefully sent heimdall to die so kratos would start ragnorak, why else would he send his left-hand, protector of the thing used to capture the moon, “herald of ragnorak” against the GOD KILLER. 4. he calls kratos sunshine to remind him of killing helios, who couldn’t fight back, and carrying around his head afterwards; perhaps in a twisted comparison to mimir. Why? He was like a big brother. Harsh, challenging, gave it to you straight. His lecture of Atrues and Thrud in Helheim was fantastic. I'm glad the game didn't neuter him and force him to pull his punches there.

@@ConstantVigil honestly not sure. From what I can remember there was never a piece in Helheim so maybe the mask was just attracted to whatever had the most magical energy and once Garm ripped realm tears in Helheim it canceled out?
