Honestly, I love Heimdall. I love his complex of being burdened by knowing everything that's about to happen. He's so bored and listless and knows people better than they know themselves. Also lmaooo I love the listening through the door lines. Not only is it the attention to detail, but it's *Odin and Heimdall* reacting to something so mundane and annoying lol 😂

I wonder if maybe being able to see into Odins mind and know (not feel but KNOW) his father nevet loved him just saw him as a tool to use, was a sociopathic liar and suffering his manipulations and neglected him maybe cracked his psyche and negatively affected his gift of reading minds.
@shrujanamsyama99404 ай бұрын
@@azraelknightquest5754 Odin was a good man. He only acted where he saw was threatening his life. Thor was a drunkard and irresponsible. Sif was annoyingly selfish, Freya, Tyr & Mimir were traitors who wanted to harm Odin and hence Odin punished. Mimir himself admits that he had started to develop bad opinion of Odin & Tyr was getting too strong & rallying people who hated Odin.

Heimdall could have prevented Asgards doom by not letting Kratos have the horn so a lot of it is still his own fault
@HeartlessAlpha Жыл бұрын
@@duyanhpham9227 Not likely. Odin entrusted the horn to Heimdall, believing no one can defeat his All-Seeing Eye with the exception of himself. Heimdall is fiercely loyal to Odin and takes his orders seriously. You could argue that he could've hid the horn, but his power made him arrogant and believed Kratos couldn't touch him.

weird that Heimdall can't see the bad side of Odin, that he is just a tool for the all father, either that means that Odin is such a good lier, that even Heimdall's power can't reach him, or that he knows what is up, and he's ok with it anyway.
@utopian4769 Жыл бұрын
I think it's a mix of both. Heimdall was raised by Odin, so like Thor he's gonna be molded by his toxic influence and therefore never question his decisions because of Aesir cultural norms and him being pressured to be obedient. So of course Odin knowing this is gonna put this thought of himself being this grandiose king in Heimdall's head to not just influence his mind but his powers as well. I genuinely think it got to a point where even his intention sensing couldn't pick up on Odin because Heimdall himself was too far gone by that point to see reason.
@RacingSnails64 Жыл бұрын
Hard to tell! I assume Odin is simply stronger than him/can shield his mind from his reading. When Odin tells him off for giving Atreus a hard time Heimdall seems pretty surprised that Odin doesn't believe him.

Or Odin has enchanted himself to not be judged truly by Heimdall.
@French_Dude1 Жыл бұрын
I think that on the contrary he can read Odin's mind. But it must be probably a fake mask that Odin created for himself to deceive Hemdall's vision, that's why he admires him. If he saw that Odin's true actions were his selfish purposes and that it would destroy Asgard, he would not serve him. Because above all Hemdall's job is to serve Asgard, he is the only one who really protects his kingdom and cares about it. That's why nobody in his family knows who Odin really is and the horrors he has committed. Just like Thrud, who doesn't believe Loki when he tells her that Odin has destroyed many kingdoms. Odin lied to his family from beginning to end and used them for his own selfish purposes. Hemdall can read minds, so there's no reason he can't do it with Odin. We've already seen the illusion spells he can do (like with Tyr) to fool everyone. In my opinion he does the same thing in his mind, he creates a perfect image to deceive Hemdall's judgment. I think it's the most Logic to me.

I know a lot of people hate him, but I really love his character. If you could see/hear everyone's darkest, most horrific thoughts and intentions all the time... you would be pretty cynical too. I wonder how it would be as he was growing up. He would probably hear/see all of the mean and cruel thoughts towards him, which eventually he would have to numb himself to. I kind of relate in a way; where you are so afraid of the worst outcome that you just force yourself to believe it is inevtiable, so that when it does happen, you won't be disappointed or caught off guard. I think that could be a part of why he is always seeing the worst in people right off the bat, not even considering that they can change for the better (pretty much a huge theme in GOW). It is sad that Heimdall, the God of Foresight, could not foresee his own demise. He was rasied to be a tool for Odin, that was so easily disposed of when he was no longer useful... I wish he lived, but his own ego/unwillingness to be not in control (definitely something he inhertited from Odin) being the death of him is fitting for his cynical and tragic character arc. Anyways I just rlly like him and i am sooo normal about him

At first I despised Heimdall because of his arrogance and rudeness and was even more frustrated about his foresight/mind reading ability. Which made it immensely satisfying when i beat him. But now that I think about it, I understand him and feel sorry for him, I understand that with the ability to see whatever someone does before they do it.. especially in fighting, arrogance is bound to come with it as it is a secure way to win without being touched, especially when combined with Heimdall's enhanced strength, speed, and durability. I feel bad for him because since he can see someone's thoughts and see the worst in everyone, he has major trust issues and is afraid of being hurt, so he pushes everyone away. The only one he trusts is Odin and all he sees Heimdall as is a disposable tool... and either he doesn't know it, or he's afraid of being disposed of.
