Just discovered this, but I have to say the mixes of "Music of the spheres & You Are Not Part of the Control Group" and "Forwarding the Cause of Science" are my favorite, my favorite overall as well. Especially at around 50:25, that is so reminiscent of Phillip Glass' work which was a big influence of the original soundtrack, you captured the energy perfectly.

Thank you so much. Yeah I think Philip Glass his works are really the thing I wanted to make a portal orchestra more about. Altough I have to admit that I was not familiar with his work at the time only the style of music. One of his works was featured in the GTA 4 trailer as far as I remember. It always had this feeling of extreme size to it. Ofcourse fitting for Liberty City and the grand underground of aperture science. Similar work inspired by him was also part in the movie about Steve Jobs when apple became more succesful. Stranger things also had his work. This style of music just screams, grandness, progress and science to me.

Sorry for bad english, you probably won't notice this comment, but I've been listening to this for a 3 months or so. This is just awesome! I study at a school where we work with adobe programs all day, and this orchestral version is always playing in my headphones while working. Although, its a shame that it's not on spotify!

I think it's really cool that you put so much time and effort into making a Portal 2 orchestra. I think the Portal 2 soundtrack is great and an entire orchestra of it is an interesting idea. Sadly I'm not a huge fan of orchestra's myself so I can't enjoy it that much... I hope you gain more experience with music making and make it as best as it can be. It would be amazing if your version would be performed in RL (Even if it doesn't, it would probably still be a great orchestra) . It doesn't matter how long it takes to get there. I'm hoping to see more of your work! : )

Very cool! Especially impressive as a project for just getting into big music arranging. I’m working on my own version of this but only have Science Is Fun so far... I was worried I was too late to the party but I think my interpretation is different enough to keep on with it. It’s fun to hear different ways this music can be interpreted, and it is indeed the best original game soundtrack of all time! I liked the more sinister epic orchestra take on Turret Wife Serenade, though it kind of gets lost sandwiched between movements that have similar tone (on its own though... great!). The one where I thought you really nailed it was Vitrification Order. Great stuff.

Arranging "Turret Wife Serenade" was also a thing I had most struggles with, I didn't quite figured out how to recreate the sound I had imagined for it, so at the end I tried to get it as close to it, that was possible. I am limitied when it comes to resources to work with.

my favorite part of Portal 2 was old aperture. the music for it is one of my most favorites. basically vitrification order - music of the spheres 2 is what i always listen to. you made the last 4 sound perfect, keep up the great work

Yea me too. The thing that stood out the most too me in the OST of Portal 2 was the whole old aperture part. So on my remake I want to make the tracks better than I did in this orchestra. I also have tracks such as "Don't do it" and "Wheatley science" "Your precious moon" in my favorites and I want to highlight them in my new orchestra along with "Music of the spheres"
