Thank you Dan for this video! I just got a Mamiya RZ67, and this video was EXTREMELY helpful in figuring out things that didn't make sense in the manual to me! Thank you for sharing such quality content :)

Great Video, as someone who began in photography in the digital age as an adult, I am extremely interested in starting to shoot film, preferably medium format. This video was exactly what I was looking for on the Mamiya RZ67 Pro II. Thank You.

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I also got into photography in the digital era as an adult. I made the jump into medium format film about a year ago (my first camera was a Pentacon Six). I got the RZ67 about six months ago and I've really enjoyed shooting with it. Feel free to hit me up with any questions you may have about this camera or photography in general.

Nice informative video, I’ve just grabbed the camera and can’t wait to shoot my first roll with it! 😊 Just one thing if it wasn’t already mentioned in other comments, the first version of the AE prism actually works also on Pro II cameras, I have one, it is just a little less “sophisticated” (no half shutter speeds and no over-under exposure arrows on the right of the viewfinder)

Very informative video. I used to shoot 35mm film, moved to 35mm digital and now want to go back to film, but in MF. This is definitely swaying me towards a Mamiya RZ/RB kit vs say Pentax... Thanks for the video.

Nice video, really. I just ordered my Mamiya R67 Pro II with a Mamiya RZ 50mm 4.5 ULD lens for about 1350 USD. And both products are in perfect shape. It is indeed a beautiful piece of a classic camera. Nice.

Maybe one day I will update my Mamiya RB67 PRO S which I love taking with me when I do some of my fashion photo shoot with local fashion blogger Catherine M. I love my camera and eventually purchase a Hassy just to see the difference in quality and portability! Hahahaha! Great video and look forward to seeing more of your work and sample images! I just wish I could or start recording my photoshoots and share with the rest of the world! Maybe one day?! Lol!

Hi Dan I appreciate the video. I'm confused about the chart on the RZ67. Is it just for close focusing? or must it be used every time you focus?
@tonkatonksebo4 жыл бұрын
Can you focus off center when you take portraits? Like shooting the face close up? They eyes will be placed above center right?

Cool camera great review. I should mention another reason to not shoot 220 is not all labs will develop it and some that do charge more for one roll then if you just sent in two rolls of 120.

Great introduction to a beast of a medium format camera! BTW, when you are purchasing a used one, how do you make sure that all the electronic functions are good? and with the RZ II, how do you release the shutter when there's no film in the back (to test the integrity of the shutter when you are choosing the right one)?

Nice review, I am not sure why you remove the film back to load or unload the film, just pop it open and let the darkslide be where it was.
@DanBullmanPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+Jón Tryggvason You could do it that way. I personally just think it's easier to maneuver things by taking the back off.

Dan, do not forget that you can also use 6X6 and 6x4.5 backs on this camera as well as RB backs ( with the correct adaptor)
@DanBullmanPhotography8 жыл бұрын
+mamiyapress Good to know! Although, for me, that would kind of defeat the purpose since I'm shooting with this camera to get a bigger negative. It's good to know those options exist though
@mamiyapress8 жыл бұрын

You can also get a 120/220 combination motorised back which will work with and without AA batteries.

@DanBullmanPhotography8 жыл бұрын

Direk Chew no, that's not normal, maybe your battery ran out. And you an only use one speed I think it's 1/400.

Hey Dan, just got my RZ67 II and I'm noticing a fair bit of play in the focusing with both the coarse and fine focusing knob. The focusing action also feels a lot coarser than the RZ67 I and RB67 that I've compared it to side by side. Is this normal behavior? Here's my video of my RZ67 II on Dropbox for your reference: www.dropbox.com/s/38tuat9nu7ig83a/Video%202018-08-16%2C%2010%2017%2034.mov?dl=0
