I actually just hit my 1 year being clean for the first time a week ago! I’ve been trying since the end of 2019 and there was a lot of trial and error. I would get 3 months clean and fall. Get 6 months clean and I would fall. But I never gave up and each time I fell, i learned from it and got up and kept pushing. Rewind eight years ago. I was completely blind, had lost the use of my legs, and was in incredible pain all the time. I was in the hospital ALL the time. My husband decided he didn’t want a sick wife. I was alone, with a new baby and a 6 year old and a body that wouldn’t work. Dan and his episodes were the only “outlet” I had. The only thing that brought me peace. I have always been an avid reader, and without the ability to read, Dan became my narrator…and then my only “friend”. I can not tell you the times these episodes have dragged me out of depression, soothed me to sleep (come on people…he has the BEST VOICE EVER ) entertained me, and kept me sane when the world was too much to bear. This may sound exuberant…but I do not exaggerate. Fast forward three years and after months of treatment I got half my eyesight (one eye) back , and some of my leg usage …but because I had been placed on the strongest painkillers, I was facing an addiction that was killing me. I got help, but during the nights of writhing and wanting to die, Dan yet again saved me from myself. Fast forward til today …I am walking (still one eye’d LOL) and slowly becoming a normal person again (though I’m still fighting MS) ….and through my days, Dan has been the constant that I turn to. I can probably quote all of the Celtic Holocaust (and half of most the others ) word for word 😂 I don’t know if he will ever see this, but I hope someone tells him and his team that they have saved a life. In no way an exaggeration ….I know I’m not the only one, I’m sure…..but I want Dan and his team to hear….their shows are SO MUCH MORE than entertainment. They have been my saving grace. So THANK YOU….for all you do…from the bottom of my heart. ❤

I was just wondering when a new one would come out. I’m so excited for this. Only with Dan Carlin is five hours not enough!

Dan Carlin, never ever stop making these podcasts. It’s pretty much all I’ve listened to for 3 years now. There is enough of a back log to go back to and refresh and still learn things that I missed in previous listens

i remember first listening to blue prints of armageddon at the age of 14 waiting for the school buss, and those episodes were already quite old then if i remember correctly, im now in my mid twenties, this is the only podcast that has retained its quality for the time it has been in production and just like a medival tapestry its a lifes work

I’m case anyone is curious Thor’s Angels is episode 41 with the extra being 41.5. It’s 3 bucks on his site and 4 hours long. Definitely worth it.
