I never knew the difference between castor oil and Jamaican black castor oil. I literally thought it was where the oil was made and didn't think the difference would be as significant as you described. Thanks for the great educational video Dan!

Welcome information about Black Castor Oil. You made a very important distinction between “cheap”, which is a matter of quality, and “inexpensive”, which is a matter of price. Nice!

My great grandma use 2 make castor oil 4 my mom's hair in Jamaica when she was little. I use sunny isle products all the time. I like the way their beard oil performed in my beard & always keep a bottle of their regular jbco.

I prefer just buying Castor oil by itself and put two eye droppers in my favorite oil and shake it up. You get the thickness of luxurious bastard oils. We already have great companies to order from. Like beard octane. I would rather give them my business to keep them in business.

I use their Extra Dark Jamaican Black Caster Oil. The ingredients read that its Pure Jamaican Black Caster oil. I use it with Alma oil because the oil is much thicker, which my beard prefers. Much less breakage. I have wondered if they were a reputable product.

This is the first beard oil i started with 5 years ago. I dont use it anymore because i found better stuff like Bevel's beard oil. Also i feel that with my beard i like the light viscosity oil for my coarse facial hair. You should review Bevel 's beard products next!

lol sorry but if it says authentic Jamaican black castor oil on front of label, dunno for me it should have some trace of it in the ingredients 🤷♂️ but it is 2024 so it can identify as whatever kind of oil it wants to..😂😂😂 great information Dan!

Yeahhh, the label threw me off and seems like it would have to be at least a little intentional?

It wasn't very clear to me that you were talking about their beard oil. They have other products that are 100% castor oil. According to their website the Jamaican Black Castor Oil is made in Jamaica. I love the extra dark. 😊

Thanks again for a great and very informative video Dan. Been curious about this product as I stumbled upon it on Amazon and as you mention there’s quite a lot of reviews m/comments on it. I was though hoping it actually was a black castor oil but now I know and won’t have to bother with it. Unless curiosity gets the better of me. 😅

Used both beard wash and beard oil in my rotation. Liked them both! Yes the labeling is deceive but in my opinion the list of ingredients is an addition to the Jamaica Black Castor Oil. For the price you can't go wrong. I can think of some other products that are worse.

Oh absolutely many worse ones out there!

Good morning Dan, Great information as always.., I do not have a question though, is Castor oil, as in many carrier blends better for or, recommended for graying beards?
@DanCBearded4 ай бұрын
Yes, castor works very well with grey/white/silver/red beards
@markparker99104 ай бұрын
Is it because it penetrates or absorbs better, not sure but, it t sure seems like it does, and oddly enough, it hasn't clogged my pores either, that's a good thing!

Does the higher pH level on the oil act similarly to a higher pH wash? Meaning, does it strip the beard or is it harsh in any way?

They sell the actual bottle of Black Castor Oil only and the ingredient list says that as well. I see this blend all the time and never buy it. You should try just the Black Castor Oil by itself.
@DanCBearded4 ай бұрын
Oh I have tried many different suppliers of the ingredient Jamaican black castor oil. I was just illustrating the questionable misleading with the descriptions and names. Especially when you type in “Jamaican black castor oil” on Amazon and this is the first non-sponsored result that shows up most days.
@evanflowers35284 ай бұрын
@@DanCBearded yeah I can see that, when I first seen these in stores I was thinking the same thing, its super misleading to be labeled "Jamaican Black Castor Oil" then have all this extra stuff in it, makes you kinda not trust the company. I would be interested in your recommendations of other pure oils or like where to buy really good carrier oils in general. That would be a cool video I think, just a thought I find myself looking in the food aisle looking for oils that say "Cold Pressed" lol
