I've spent thousands of dollars and I've tried if not all companies, most of the companies for beard oils; butters, balms, wash etc. Personally what works best for my skin and beard is Renewed Man. Second to that would be Black Rebel Beard Company. Especially for their quality of strong and long lasting scent profiles. What I especially noticed with these 2 specific companies over the years is that if you plan on grabbing 2-3 or more of their products, they won't go stale over time losing their scent and smelling kind of like cooking oil (so to speak). So from the compatibility and nourishment with my skin/beard, to the long lasting scent profiles and shelf life I love these 2 companies the best. Great video, and solid list 👊🏽

Great video Dan C! I've been growing my beard for about 4 years, and I'd hardly put any oils in it, heck i'd just wash it with normal shampoo. Two years ago I saw you come up on my KZbin list and I told myself that after watching your videos that I'm going to start taking better care of my beard. Never tried your summer butter but I love your regular butter. Need to order some of your oil too. Short & stout is soooooo good. I was scared it would smell like an actual stout but to me it’s just a beautiful oatmeal cookie scent with hints of chocolate chips. Forced my mom to smell all my beard products when she was visiting and she said out of every company I had that short & stout was her favorite scent.

You called it with the Bahawat oil. 👍 I got the unscented and a sample pack. The oil is great and these scents are clones of some pretty popular designer fragrances. "Millionaire" , for example, is really close to Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather. 10/10 on the oil & the scents.

I was glad to hear you mention a beard butter that is to tacky that it pulls hairs out. I’ve tried a few beard butters but the one that falls into the “hair pulling tacky” category is Live Bearded. I like their product but the tackiness is way to much, and sure, I can add some of their oil to it to smooth it out but that’s just product which equals to more money. Can you tell me your thoughts on Live Bearded products?

Love these Best Of videos. Totally agree on the Beard Octane LCW. Most lathering wash I’ve ever used, and only needing one MAYBE two pumps each shower, it lasts FOREVER. I can’t say that I’m as impressed with their conditioner. Honestly, I don’t feel the need for a conditioner at all when using their LCW. Unless you make a video about a new LCW that just blows your mind, I can’t see myself trying anything new, simply because it is that amazing. Beard Octane is also my go to for oils, but I’ve also really liked Chattanooga Beard Co. oils as well. I’ve used Beard Octane butters (Downshift and Barbershop) but ever since I started using Detroit Grooming (Belle Isle so far) I haven’t touched my Beard Octane butters. I have a buddy that swears by Bossman Beard Jelly, but I haven’t been blown away by them. Though I will admit, I’ve only used them in my night routine as a butter alternative, and nothing comes close to the Detroit Grooming butter. I absolutely love my Aberlite Pro! Totally worth the price. Thanks for the discount code! The Chicago Combs #8 is the only comb I use now. I don’t even use my wood comb anymore. As always, thanks for the videos!

I'd like to know how Bulldog "beard shampoo and conditioner" (oil, etc) fits into your categorization? Is that a "stripping" wash? It's pretty watery in consistency but I really like the scent. I'm allergic to conifer trees (pine, cedar, juniper, etc). Those are very common ingredients in beard products. I need recommendation for products that dont contain them.

Unfortunately that is a terrible product, in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend anyone using a 2in1.

Any chance you would consider trying other heated brushes and letting us know pros and cons of each? Trying to decide on one and not sure if I really need to spend the money on your recommended one or if a cheaper one would do the job.

From beard octane, the LCW is a straight up beard wash. I use both that and their regular conditioner. I wash every day and follow up with conditioner every other day.

@@DanCBearded so I have plenty of the unscented artius man beard wash and the high octane unscented beard conditioner is on the way. I can use artius wash for the shower and follow up with high octane after correct?

So your saying the beard washes you mentioned except last one don't need a cowash? Just want to make sure you always use the beard co wash after beard wash since it strips but the ones you listed you don't need a cowash with it correct?
