Medicine IS a longer career though. I mean, how long can you be in a company? By the time a doctor is completely finished training,a dancer is almost through. You peak young and after there's teaching, judging if you are lucky or else retraining in a different field.

Obviously?? It is such an insecure path. Sure, if one is incredibly talented and healthy and gets the opportunity, try ballet, but the fact is, a very small percentage of ballet dancers manage to live from their salary as dancers. Others are either supported by their parents or they get a week-end job (and that is tough as they never get a break).
