LYRICS:
Squawk seven five zero zero mane. World in a barell drippin’ some blood. Three dead riders grippin’ the reigns. of Saturn in da last plastic cup. Couldn’t make me into a hero. Couldn’t turn me into a coward. Whatever history that you wrote blew away in the wind on your way down from your ivory tower. Your words lost their power. You can aim down, fire. We’ll be down here living how we want. Never coming back. Never coming back. Run into a smack. With a hand to deliver. You always see right through me. When i am lost and out of place. You always watch me stumble down. While you wait for me to drown. Of all the ways I’ve given in. I can’t believe it’s not enough. To satisfy my endless search for any form of love. So I will stay my course until you break my wrists. Do everything to keep my silent. You wanna start a war with all that I stand for? You always see right through my, my masquerade. I know there’s nowhere to hide. I’m cellophane. I feel like I’ve gotta change. I feel like I’ve gotta stay. All of the handsome fiction will melt away. And when flame burns brighter, evaporate. You always see right through my, my masquerade. I know there’s nowhere to hide. I’m cellophane. All of the
fabrication will melt away. And when flame burns hotter, evaporate.

Every riff seems like a throwback in this song, its also the rhythm for the zoloft chorus. The buildup with no snare with Tilian after the first guest vocal is a strawberry swisher pt 3 type as well. Just imagine after that part the drum fill "bap bom boom; I-- was raised to believe.."

let me say this, because i know it's going to be a repeat of what everyone else has said, but fuck it. i've been listening to DGD since 2006, about when "whatever i say" came out. through jonny, kurt, and tillian, with or without jon mess, i have grown though my 20s and into my 30s listening to these guys, and to say the least, the outro to this song left me in tears solely because they recognise their roots and how they got to where they are now. in fact, my first experience with them live was in 2007 back in NJ when JC was still in the band, him and Mess made a comment about how since they always spin around each other, the cables to their mics always wrap around each other until its so tight that they bump into each other. fast forward 12 years later, and i'll be seeing them here in WA, still kicking ass as they did so many years before, but still staying true to who theyve always been. to anyone who has any issues with them not sounding like they did when JC was still in: fuck you. DGD will, and forever, always be a band that knows how to throw it down, and in doing so, will never forget what made them who they are now. thank you, DGD, i've never had so much confidence in a band staying true until you guys.

This band has been a part of every chapter of my life since eighth grade. I’m 23 now. So much of this album gave me chills and made me incredibly happy (KURT TRAVIS!!!) But having found Eidola a few years back and seeing Andrew play with them live once I was brought to tears by his feature on this tune especially because the song has a very Eidola style to it on the breakdown. But the final section where they cycle through the generations of dgd on clean and unclean vocals honestly had me weeping. These guys are so so talented and so slept on. Crazy level of nostalgia with this tune. It has to be one of their best ever. If not for anything else but at least the outro. Genius. Keep doing what you are doing guys I will listen until I die

Would it it hurt to write (featuring Andrew Wells) in the title? Andrew is the vocalist for Eidola who also has tours with DGD. Not sure if he's a permanent member so maybe that's why they didnt include his name in the title.
@vantasiamarie4082
@vantasiamarie4082 5 жыл бұрын
i feel like they view him as being more of a member rather than just a featured artist so by not saying “featuring Andrew Wells” this is just showing that Andrews apart of Dance whether or not Dance is Andrews main focus or if he’s even actually a “member” they’re basically saying he’s a member no strings attached

Connor Martinez sorry, guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion. I respect whatever you or anybody else likes to listen to. No need for being a douche bag because somebody doesn't agree with you. The reason I'm not a huge fan of the album is because I'm not really into this type of pop-punk music anymore. I liked this band when I was a teenager, but now that I'm in my mid 20s, I still follow them because they come out with a decent song every so often, but that's about it. There's a way to tell someone that you have a different opinion than them in a mature manner, not like you just did. Reverence from parkway drive is one of my favorite albums by them, and if you think it's generic, then you should listen to the lyrics more closely.
@Engineer_Heathen
@Engineer_Heathen 6 жыл бұрын
Connor Martinez all good man. Yeah I'm big into the lyrics of songs because it gives them meaning for me and something to think about. Like the new parkway drive album hits me hard because some of the songs talk about corruption in the church and religion in general (such as "wishing wells" and "I hope you rot") which I find very interesting, being against the church and religion myself. And some of the instrumental breakdowns in this album are awesome. Whereas dgd songs typically don't have much meaning to me anymore, but they're fun to groove to. Like I loved their single that came out recently, midnight crusade. I'd rather ppl listen to something like this than some of the garbage on the radio.
@Chnapik
@Chnapik 6 жыл бұрын
Engineer DGD's lyrics are not meant to take seriously, especially Jon's, he uses his voice more like an instrument and just writes lyrics that sound good and rhyme well. But I agree with Reverence not being as bad as everyone makes it out to be, not generic at all imo.

2 years ago today, my heart dropped thinking this was the last album DGD would ever make. The last minute of this song felt like a farewell to all of their fans. I cried because this band has gotten me thru hell, and I didn’t want to see them go, let alone hear them say goodbye. I was wrong ofc! This wasn’t goodbye, it was more of a homage to everything the band has been thru. An acknowledgment of their past as a group of rad dudes who really care about their fanbase. i felt what it was like to truly love the sound that Will Swan, Matt Mingus & Jon Mess created. The band as a whole is amazing without a doubt (past & present member included). This band will always be my favorite band in the world. The Beatles of my universe.

I've been in & out the hospital 3 times since Oct10th (first 2 times I was discharged 2days or so later I was back in hospital for something else) I Missed my sons 2nd bday & my own bday (that part is fine)..Finally got out Nov 18th hoping not to spend another darn day in a negligent hospital.. 32 days in a hospital is just terrifying. I'm still on antibiotics for my organs(while it still destroys my other organs) &got plenty pain meds in hand.. I haven't had a normal sleep where I don't fade away because of the 4 different pain medications..Where I don't wake up to the pain& noticing I'd been bitting my tongue all night in my sleep. Tonight I popped some Percocets because it doesn't cause me to have nightmares like the others. Strangely enough I'm still awake.. I've listened to this album 2 times in a row so far tonight.. Usually I'm alseep by 8pm w/the meds.. (Scheduled medication) but I'm here.. & I'm going for a third. Will I feel every word?, sing outloud& cry again? I'm sure I will.. But I'm glad to be alive & tonight maybe I won't fall asleep.. But I'll own the night... Haha sorry. I'm lame. Also.. Thank youu! DGD for all these yrs of amazing freaking music. My #1 always. Love youuu

Squawk, seven-five Zero zero mane World in a barrel dripping some blood Three dead riders Gripping the reigns of Saturn In da last plastic cup Couldn't make me into a hero Couldn't turn me into a coward Whatever history that you wrote Blew away in the wind on your way down From your ivory tower Your words lost their power You can aim down fire We'll be down here living how we want Never coming back Never coming back Run into a smack with a hand to deliver Never coming back Never coming back Run into a smack with a hand to deliver You always see right through me When I am lost and out of place You always watch me stumble down While you wait for me to drown Of all the ways I've given in I can't believe it's not enough To satisfy my endless search for any form of love So I will stay my course until you break my wrists Do everything you can to keep me silent You wanna start a war with all that I stand for You always see right through my My masquerade I know there's nowhere to hide I'm cellophane I feel like I'm gonna stay I feel like I'm gonna change I feel like I'm gonna stay Never coming back Never coming back Run into a smack with a hand to deliver Never coming back Never coming back Run into a smack with a hand to deliver You always see right through me When I am lost and out of place You always watch me stumble down While you wait for me to drown You always see right through my My masquerade I know there's nowhere to hide I'm cellophane All of the handsome fiction Will melt away And when the flame burns brighter Evaporate You always see right through my My masquerade I know there's nowhere to hide I'm cellophane All of the fabrications Will melt away And when the flame burns hotter Evaporate (Step back, let go, I believe there's meaning, No I believe there's nothing) Oh, you should have listened to your friends (Step back, let go, I believe there's meaning, No I believe there's nothing) You would have been over this by now Over this by now, I'm found (Who drains the blood from my head? I do do Who accepts me as I am? I do I do) What excuses do you make? We own the night For one good note Well don't it feel good? You get what you paid for Well don't it feel good? You get what you paid for
