This band has been a part of every chapter of my life since eighth grade. I’m 23 now. So much of this album gave me chills and made me incredibly happy (KURT TRAVIS!!!) But having found Eidola a few years back and seeing Andrew play with them live once I was brought to tears by his feature on this tune especially because the song has a very Eidola style to it on the breakdown. But the final section where they cycle through the generations of dgd on clean and unclean vocals honestly had me weeping. These guys are so so talented and so slept on. Crazy level of nostalgia with this tune. It has to be one of their best ever. If not for anything else but at least the outro. Genius. Keep doing what you are doing guys I will listen until I die

let me say this, because i know it's going to be a repeat of what everyone else has said, but fuck it. i've been listening to DGD since 2006, about when "whatever i say" came out. through jonny, kurt, and tillian, with or without jon mess, i have grown though my 20s and into my 30s listening to these guys, and to say the least, the outro to this song left me in tears solely because they recognise their roots and how they got to where they are now. in fact, my first experience with them live was in 2007 back in NJ when JC was still in the band, him and Mess made a comment about how since they always spin around each other, the cables to their mics always wrap around each other until its so tight that they bump into each other. fast forward 12 years later, and i'll be seeing them here in WA, still kicking ass as they did so many years before, but still staying true to who theyve always been. to anyone who has any issues with them not sounding like they did when JC was still in: fuck you. DGD will, and forever, always be a band that knows how to throw it down, and in doing so, will never forget what made them who they are now. thank you, DGD, i've never had so much confidence in a band staying true until you guys.

2 years ago today, my heart dropped thinking this was the last album DGD would ever make. The last minute of this song felt like a farewell to all of their fans. I cried because this band has gotten me thru hell, and I didn’t want to see them go, let alone hear them say goodbye. I was wrong ofc! This wasn’t goodbye, it was more of a homage to everything the band has been thru. An acknowledgment of their past as a group of rad dudes who really care about their fanbase. i felt what it was like to truly love the sound that Will Swan, Matt Mingus & Jon Mess created. The band as a whole is amazing without a doubt (past & present member included). This band will always be my favorite band in the world. The Beatles of my universe.

Connor Martinez sorry, guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion. I respect whatever you or anybody else likes to listen to. No need for being a douche bag because somebody doesn't agree with you. The reason I'm not a huge fan of the album is because I'm not really into this type of pop-punk music anymore. I liked this band when I was a teenager, but now that I'm in my mid 20s, I still follow them because they come out with a decent song every so often, but that's about it. There's a way to tell someone that you have a different opinion than them in a mature manner, not like you just did. Reverence from parkway drive is one of my favorite albums by them, and if you think it's generic, then you should listen to the lyrics more closely.
@Engineer_Heathen6 жыл бұрын
Connor Martinez all good man. Yeah I'm big into the lyrics of songs because it gives them meaning for me and something to think about. Like the new parkway drive album hits me hard because some of the songs talk about corruption in the church and religion in general (such as "wishing wells" and "I hope you rot") which I find very interesting, being against the church and religion myself. And some of the instrumental breakdowns in this album are awesome. Whereas dgd songs typically don't have much meaning to me anymore, but they're fun to groove to. Like I loved their single that came out recently, midnight crusade. I'd rather ppl listen to something like this than some of the garbage on the radio.

Engineer DGD's lyrics are not meant to take seriously, especially Jon's, he uses his voice more like an instrument and just writes lyrics that sound good and rhyme well. But I agree with Reverence not being as bad as everyone makes it out to be, not generic at all imo.

Oh, Should have listened to your friends, you have been over this by now.... I can't get over the greatness!!! DGD!!!

Damn yo, when this first came out I really thought this was the last song ever. And that would've been fine. Glad they're still with us, but I'd be surprised if they ever make another song as significant as this

Kurt's song is the best song on the album! and it's not just because it's him singing, his lyrics are excellent as well, instrumentally its a super beautiful track, and Jon Mess' lines on it are some of his best on the album

God I love Tillian but ANDREW's vocal carries this song for me 🙏🏻 it's his tone that does it for me, so much soul in that voice 💯

Sounds like Mingus, Mess, Swan, Craig and Feerick all mixed it together and impregnated Saosin and had an evolved post-hardcore god-child. I love this song. Tillian needed to happen, hasn't let the old fans down and DGD has put out two extremely solid albums since. I can't wait until you guys come back to Orange County. I hope that mean lady returns my Lemon Merengue Tie. Typical Observatory. Oh, and saran-wrap would have totally not worked here-- genius what you did there. We love you guys. Thank you for your time and talent gents.
