I think BrokenAutumns means Acceptance Speech since it was the first album with Tilian. Truly, this album had something in it that the following works didnt. Its great to see the guys pay homage to that era in their sound

This is my all time favorite dgd song. I relate to it so hard, I still cry when I hear it. To me it's what I feel like living with mental illness and coping with autism. "Masking" and acting as if I'm normal, when inside I constantly wanna die, I can't ever make friends or keep a relationship. Its so hard.

While I have autism myself, I feel like this hits home in a different direction. Both my mother and former stepmother were both physically and mentally abused by my biological dad. Some things such as “Did you notice I’m normal?” and “Love doesn’t make you crippled or enslaved” really stick. While he seemed like a nice guy on the outside, he wasn’t so nice back home.

Maybe I’m overthinking this but: This song seems to be about how it feels to live with mental illness and how people want you/expect you to be “Normal” and interact with others... which ultimately ends up in a situation where you really just want to die or be left alone instead of saying hi to that person. That’s what I picked up from this song so I thought I share :). ALSO this is the best song of the album!
