At approximately the time that record was recorded, he had some custom made 5 string guitars, and if I had to bet I'd say it was one of them. Amp sounds like it could have been a Leslie 147 without the speaker rotating, actual amp thru it could have been many possibilities. I remember when this song was new, my sister would play it over and over again, out of all the songs on there, she really dug that one, and it's one of my favorites on there too, heck it is my favorite off that album. Mick's tiddy doodling in the background was no hack job either, tasty job, why'ja quit Mick why!

Live on Waiheke Island Auckland NZ and had work far endof the Island with a twenty minite drive to job .The rd was rough metal so was like rallying and played this song over and over for five weeks and loved every time .never ever get tired of it your pkaying it so good thankyou Rob 😁

The Open 'A' sounds like Standard Concert tuning but the F# ,on my Explorer, is too high and the song only sounds correct w/5 String Barre chord 'E'. So............ how are you tuning that Strat ?

That was really good, however: Keith's part was on a Telecaster with a humbucker neck pickup, not a Strat. Taylor did not play solo's in open G normally; was this a one-off exception?

Does it matter what kinda guitar he uses to play it? The tone is pretty good. Taylor played this song in standard tuning, yeah. I'm guessing that happyhotstar retuned his guitar for the solo-lead bit, to standard tuning.

You should notice during the rhythm section the guitar used has 5 strings - open G tuning just like Keef - when the solo comes around we have another strat but this has 6 strings so obviously changed guitars from open G to a standard. but really good stuff Happyhotstar
