Looking at this again, I can seriously say that Taylor was a mad man. I wonder why he doesnt play like that anymore, even when he joins in with theStones. Anyone hearing him at these shows wouldnt know how amazingly good he once was .

Everything about the song is perfect. Not only Mick's great lead throughout but Charlie's solid groove, Keith's dirty rhythm, Ian Stewart's fantastic boogie piano. Quite excellent combination.

I’m glad to know that you liked it, jwcjrcpa, many thanks! I had to have my luthier adjust my guitar very carefully to keep it in tune for this song. And it's incredible that here in this this video someone commented that "there's no way Mick T played a strat on this song"... Wow, if with a Strat it was extremely difficult to keep in tune, imagine with a Les Paul equipped with a Bigsby lol

I don't know if Taylor's part is mixed too low on the original record but I never really picked up on his playing until about halfway through! Great to hear the whole thing so clearly.

You’re right, Liam, MT’s guitar was always mixed at a lower volume on the Stones records, which makes it difficult to hear what he is playing sometimes. I'm glad you enjoyed my video!

2 Minute 20 second mark is the money shot... I loved(Still do) this song. Like "Rip This Joint", "100 Years Ago" I wanted it to keep going for another minute as it faded out. The band is on fire by the end of songs like this. Great post. Thank you.

I honestly didn't know this part existed, and I've listened to the song a million times. I just can't hear it, except for the solo.

That's because Mick Taylor's guitar is placed intentionally low in the mix. If you separate the two stereo channels of Dance Little Sister (album version) and listen only to the right channel, you will notice his guitar much more clearly.

Great stuff Justin , I guess he played a strat on a few tunes? ...I always thought of him as the Les Paul guy ...spot on though I thought it was a phaser he used but the flanger sounds great. Winter is still my favourite Rock guitar solo - He really shines on that ..integral part of that era with the stones
