The part where kalani does a walk over then the other girls catch her is my favourite part. I think it really portrays the story. How she was falling, they helped her and where her support and then she could get up again. It honestly gave me chills !!

I wish kalani had a black dress on showing she was in a bad place and Brynn, Nia, and Kendall had the white dress on showing they are the angels protecting her
@BronteClaire1005 жыл бұрын
I like that idea too💖 but i see the idea behind kalani being white and I think both can work. Like you were saying the white could be the angels helping kalani but maybe they put kalani in white to represent that she's an angel even tho she's going through such dark times. That would be a nice message for people going through depression etc to show they are angels still and not worthless. Sometimes white can also mean they're trying to portray that character as deceased (and I guess she dies at the end in this case)
@bethanythomsen24565 жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying but white is also very bright on stage. Think of when it snows, it's super bright out even if it's freezing because the white snow is reflecting the sunlight into your face. So, naturally anyone wearing white will intentionally or not, be the focal point in the dance. In this instance, Kalani was the focal point, so she wore white while the rest wore black with the yellow bows for awareness.

I think 1. They didnt want to make it seem like the suicidal one (kalani) was damaged or a lost cause, 2. Kalani is the angel because she did end up dying in the dance at the end when she ran away from their help and the phone rang and 2. at a funeral the person who passed is usually wearing nice clothing (sometimes white) and everyone else is wearing black so it made a nice contrast. Everyone is telling stories so here’s mine: My cousin had just died and we were at his funeral. This was the fifth time someone in my family had died in my life and I was over it, I couldn’t take it anymore, I wanted out, I wanted to end it. So I went into the old bathroom in the church and found a piece of broken mirror. Then I stood there bawling holding it close to my chest when a little voice said “why are you crying” I looked back and realized it was my almost two year old cousin. “Stop crying, it’s ok” (she is extremely smart for her age) then she said words that changed my mind, “please don’t go, I love you!” And then I realized that I have her, and my big family that can get through this together.

@CaiCanMake4 жыл бұрын
When I was 13, I was suffering from severe social anxiety which led to a severe depression. I kept on telling myself to hold on a little bit longer, until one night I was just done with it all, locked myself in the bathroom and prepared to end it all. As I was looking at myself in the mirror, it kind of dawned on me that “if I’m really going to go through with this I have to be 200% sure that it’s what I really want to do.” So, I made a list comparing reasons to live and reasons to die. I started thinking of my best friend at the time, how she was bullied and was going through almost the same stuff I was going through, and in that moment I was terrified that if I died that night, then she would follow me. I couldn’t allow that to happen, I couldn’t give my best friend one more reason to die. So, I survived that night. That was seven years ago, and while things didn’t immediately get better, over time i was able to come to terms with all that had happened. I decided a few years later that even though I had survived, I wasn’t happy. I told my mom everything one night after coming home from work, and the next day I went to see my doctor and got a formal diagnosis, medication, and a recommendation to start going to therapy. I think a common misconception about recovering from a mental illness is that it immediately goes away once you start taking “happy pills” ( I hate that term, that’s not what they do at all), going to therapy, and adopting or changing your daily habits. That’s not how it works. Recovering from something like anxiety or depression is a LEARNING process, where you learn how to monitor your mental state, how to respond when things get ugly, what works best for you when you need to break out of an episode, etc. It’s not like taking cough drops or cold medicine, the best way I can describe it is learning to tame a wild animal. It won’t leave you, but you can, with time and patience, learn to live alongside it. You don’t have to be unhappy all the time, you CAN take back control over your life, and happiness IS still possible. I don’t think I can stress that enough, YOU ARE NOT A LOST CAUSE. Regarding this next bit, it’s all coming from someone with a history of suicidal ideation and a mental disorder; I’m someone with experience, I’m not a professional by any means. If you really are thinking about killing yourself, PLEASE tell someone. Tell your best friend, tell your parents, tell someone you trust enough to help you find the help you need. Depression is hard enough on its own, there’s no reason to go through it alone. If you are seriously considering suicide though, the best advice I can give you is this; 1) make a list. Write down every single possible reason you can think of that would make you reconsider suicide as an option. Suicide is permanent, if you succeed there will be no turning back. Most suicides are impulsive decisions, so when you finish your list, go to bed. 2) Sleep on it. Never make a big decision in life without giving yourself plenty of time (and plenty of rest). If it’s not enough to live for yourself, 3) is there anyone in your live worth living for? For me, it was my best friend, who might that be for you? Lastly, if you are still not 200% certain you want to die, set a day. Tell yourself that until that day comes, you will not kill yourself. It can be a week, it can be a month, whatever it takes for you to really, honestly, think it through. Above all else though, please please PLEASE tell someone. Tell them everything. Write it down and read it out loud a few times beforehand if you’re too scared. Healing takes time, but I promise you it is WORTH IT. It’s not some dream or a fantasy, HEALING IS POSSIBLE. I’ve done it, I know several people in my life who have done it, I know so many other people in such worse situations have done it, YOU ARE NOT A LOST CAUSE. Chin up, do what you have to do, and I PROMISE you, it will get better.

It's sad because some people don't get the meaning behind this dance... One of the girls in this dance lost a close family friend to suicide and this was to spread awareness that this is a serious issue, from what I recall. Oh and the ending when they finally pick up the phone, the girl already took her life.

my theory is: so every time the girls in the black caught kalaini it means they were stopping her from committing suicide but when she actually ran off she committed suicide and when the black phons ran they were helping people not commit suicide but when the red phone rang someone actually committed suicide and that was after kalaini ran off so that’s saying she committed suicide!!! that’s just my theory though
@sophiapatrice79495 жыл бұрын
@Faith neighbour, I think so too
@jaylacruz63575 жыл бұрын
Well listen to abby talk in the beginning before they are practicing. She talks about how they are reaching to Kalani and trying to reach out to her, but notice they never touch her until she falls. Adding on to your theory. Her falling is every time she attempts or thinks about it, but when she falls they catch her, they either are able to stop her or it's a failed attempt, then when she runs off they didn't reach her! They couldn't save her this time, she finally did it.

Why can’t they say suicide hotline. They said it only when they announced it. This is a subject that we should face and confront rather then hide away from and pretend like it’s not a thing

He moved a couple hours away and me and my mum was supposed to be driving up to see him and be wasnt at his house and we waited there for like 5 or 6 hours and no answer so we just drove home again. My mum was fuming that she made that journey up there for nothing. Later that week we got a call saying he jumped infront of a train and died. My heart shattered and life will never be the same again without him I love you Craig and can't wait to see you in heaven
