So if Abby was running normal dance school she would want them to stay away so she can teach without interference from mothers who thing they are the world's greatest dance teachers. But the producers want the mothers there- the show is dance moms. So when they're not there they get Abby to "put (pretend) pressure" on the mothers to come back to justify them quitting work/leaving their families ect. She said that about wanting them to stay away in season 1. But the show was far less scripted then and Abby could run the thing mostly how she runs a normal dance school. I mean is season 1 Melissa went on vacation and Abby didn't bat an eyelid.

Plus she forgot all about the fact that Kira herself has to recover from giving birth. There is a reason why you don't go back to work until months after giving birth even in the US. I actually can relate to Kalani a lot. When I did Cheerleading in 8th grade, my coach didn’t condition us enough and I hurt my back. I had to quit the team, I couldn’t sleep bc it was so bad, it was awful. It was like muscle spasms on my right lower back. I got physical therapy and the pain stopped, but now, even 2-3 years later, I still get pain when I sit or stand for too long. Because of my cheer coach who couldn’t have cared less about me and my unsupportive teammates who were mean popular girls, my back won’t be the same. 😔
