HUGE thanks to Buwumet for helping with the dubstep portion of the video because I don't actually know how to write for a drumset so she wrote me some dubstep-like lines (if you just scrolled down and spoiled yourself before watching the video, take the L nerd :P). It actually makes a lot of sense contextually that you put the dubstep part where you did! Tchaikovsky was one of many Romantic era composers who wrote a lot of movements in a sort of arc form with a clear climax. The interesting thing is that Tchaikovsky in particular often breaks from the norm and puts that climax in the middle of a transition section, between two themes. (You can hear that in both the first and last movements of the Pathétique Symphony, for example!) Such a transition would normally be one of the least consequential parts of the movement's structure, as it essentially serves as filler music just to get smoothly from theme A to theme B. In the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (the normal version), that's exactly what Tchaikovsky does, and the transition from B back to A is just those shimmery, atmospheric celesta arpeggios. But you, my friend, Pathétique'd it up, exactly where he himself would have done it! :D

Sir, Tchaikovsky featured a fukin CANNON in one of his pieces. His corpse is rolling to the beat of the dubstep he could never experience.

"Tchaikovsky is rolling in his grave" ...I've listened to quite a bit of Tchaikovsky and I'm pretty sure he would have loved that bit.
