My mom, she loves this song and is always dancing this song. It be special because hula I could not get. My mom try her best teaching me but just couldn’t get it. Then she put me in Tahitian and I got that down pack. But this is hula is to my mom and I know she will be very touched. And then she will get up and dance with me. And others I will share with. You too. Im still practicing but thank you so much for sharing this. I have been wanting to learn but either to busy or something. But this song is family song to all of us Hawaiian families.

I am practicing Hanalei Moon hula dance during my quarantine period. Hula dance is so magical that brings positive energy with love. It helps me a lot mentally and physically. As a teacher of young children, I was recently asked to put some traditional dance lessons together and these have helped me enormously. Hula is such an expressive, beautiful and delicate art form. Mahalo nui for this video. I'm a hospice nurse and moved from o'ahu 3 years ago to Oregon to be closer to my sister who has leukemia. One of my hospice pts died recently. Today is her celebration of life. The son asked if I'd sing. She used to live on Kauai. I decided to do Hanalei Moon and found your video for the hula so my husband and I are doing it for the celebration.

I’m familiar with the song but have never choreographed a hula to it. I will put it on the “request” list. I did check out that channel and those ladies dance beautifully. Yes, thank you. When I learned the meaning of the different hula moves which you showed in earlier videos, I am able to dance the hula by following the lyrics of Hanalei Moon. I have been asked to share some hula with the ladies at work. I have one more week to practice and prepare to teach 200 or more ladies some basic steps of hula.

I am just finding these videos and am trying to learn easy hulas at home for exercise only. I find them pretty easy to follow, but i have some trouble figuring out how they are sorted. If I could find all the beginner steps in one place it would be a bit easier for me to get the basics down and then learn a dance.
