I’m laughing at you upholstery comment. You said you wanted fabric that doesn’t show the dirt, my question is why? Would you rather sit on a dirty sofa because the dirt is more camouflaged or would you rather sit on one that is clean and no hidden dirt in site? This always puzzles me. I have three little dogs and personally I want to see what’s getting soiled so it can be cleaned right away, but that’s just me. I still love your videos so please don’t be offended by my remarks. I’m just an 80 year old dog mom who likes things clean.🤭

On the fabric, be careful that Poppy’s nails don’t get caught in the weave of the fabric! I like the one that’s kind of feeling like velour. Difficult decision, because samples are so small. Instead of sheets, couldn’t you buy some stylish blankets on the sofa! I’ve seen on the internet, a long cover on the seat part of the sofa, especially for dogs to not ruin or dirty the sofa! Good luck, girl!

I loved the fabric you said your Mom would pick. I think it would make your room POP. When you were in your car and it was so hot you looked very beautiful all flushed. The sofa will still get dirty with a darker fabric. You just won't see it. Teach the dog to stay off the furniture. It will be less expensive to do that than change the fabric. Good luck with everything.

Cindy. Try wiping your nails with alcohol before applying the polish. You want all the oils off before applying the polish. That should help the polish stay longer. ❤

Loved this video! Loved your choice of fabric.. especially the chenille. Anything with threads that can snag are a nightmare. Take it from me after I spent big $ on a duvet cover that looked like the devil after 2 months! You have wonderful taste, so whatever you choose will be fabulous. You are so blessed to have friends around. Especially one for 50 years!!! The last of my good friends is moving away next month and it’s tough thinking about it. Rather than reupholstering (very expensive--almost as much as buying the entire sectional again), why not have slipcovers made or better yet, find pre-made ones that are removable for washing? Or since you said the cushion covers have zippers, and they washed up nicely when you did it once before, why not continue to do that? That would only leave the arms to clean and often there are arm covers that come with new furniture. If you don't have arm covers, perhaps you could have some made in a coordinating fabric. Look for colorful throw pillows like the fabric your mom would like if you want to add a bit of color and pattern to your decor. Pillows are inexpensive compared to replacing an entire sectional that would get very out of date quickly in a busy fabric. Amazon has some very inexpensive throw pillow covers to change out the look of your throw pillows and refresh your room. Someone earlier said she trained her dog to only go on the loveseat where she has a fleece throw and stay off the main couch. That sounds like something worth looking into and a much less expensive option.

Our sofa is made from recycled soda bottles. We waited a year for it to be delivered. It is off white and super comfy. Our two dogs are often snuggling with us on the sofa. It is a “ just wipe clean with a damp rag or paper towel.” Red wine has been spilled on it and came right off. No one can believe that it is made of recycled soda bottles because of the soft texture.

Sorry Cindy but in my opinion the fabrics don't go well with the barstools. The barstools look on camera to have pink undertones. Why not pick something like a plaid or print in deeper colors. Your floor is gray which is a cool color and you are trying to mix in warm colors.

The nails on a dog when they scratch the fabric can cause it to snag, I think I would go with leather, then you can just wipe it clean...I wouldn't go with fabric❤

Cindy, I teach 2nd grade and am retiring after this year. I get tired of spending money on getting my nails done, too, so I'm going back to my Dashing Diva nail sheets. They're just like stickers. They last pretty good. Sometimes I do the Impress press on nails, too, but they get stuck in my hair once I've worn them a while. Anyway, just ideas for you. But, you might have already tried stickers and press ons.

Try looking at Trader Joes , they have fresh flowers you can dry in all different colors You can get what you like. Lots of eucalyptus and other things. Thanks for the video. Yes the desert can be brutal with the heat. We lived in Palm Springs and 120 is way to hot for me, had to move.

Same couch issues here, what I did was buy a polar fleece throw and gave my two seater to my dog and he's not allowed to sit on any other couch. The polar fleece drys fast

My house is also in neutrals, but my sofa is more brown. My point is that even with a darker sofa, the overall feel can still be neutral. The darker fabric your mom would have loved is very pretty.

Nanny and the Moose who have a channel just had a video how to dry your flowers! She said to put in the microwave, she was placing them on on a vase then cover the flower with Hodge Podge! They were so pretty. Anyway just a thought... I really like the Black rug. Gives it some personality and I do think its older looking, I think just the opposite it looks vibrant and a little wild side and in more modern and would cover Poppy's marks.anyway good luck with deciding! Be careful on the fabric you choose, Poppie will get her nails caught in it, we have leather cause our Dobi likes to nest on the couch, scratching his little paws, easy peasy to clean.

Hi Cindy Viewer from Toronto Canada 👋 Wanted to be of assistance on the nail journey There is a nail system called Dazzle Dry: It is the Best! Fast Drying and will last a full week or longer if you follow the 4 Step System Also there is a top coat that I buy from Sallys called Seche Vite topcoat that is fast drying and very durable that can be used with your existing regular polishes. Application is sometimes finicky as thin layer is needed but it can get thick quickly but I just replace every couple of months as it is still more economical than going to the salon. It is amazing Hope this helps🤗🤗 Jules
