Mephiles's boss fight effectively confirmed that he IS "alive". He's simply stuck in the void, unable to leave and interact with the timeline; fully aware of his predicament. Which asks a VERY interesting question: If Robotnik(Classic) and Eggman(Modern) managed to find their way out of the void, what's stopping Mephiles? Or is he alredy out and we just don't know it yet?

The Eggmen probably used whatever was left of the Time Eater and whatever tech they had on them to open portals to their respective homes. Mepehilis probably isn't able to freely open portals out of this realm and isn't smart enough to make tech based portals, and even if he was there's basically no materials for him to work with.

I'm just excited they finally figured out how to animate the eyes to properly show expressions. This entire time ever since Unleashed (outside of pre-animated cutscenes like the Unleashed intro), it's really weird how every time Sonic tries to show any kind of sadness or anger they keep animating the eyelids to close halfway instead of moving his brows. They've been doing it right in the 2D artworks like the ones found in the Adventure series and the Sonic Advance Trilogy so I have no idea why they never considered animating his brows. Thankfully they finally did it here.

Shadow didn’t really hesitate so much as just flat out refused to use his Doom powers. Fair enough too, considering he doesn’t have the Doom powers during Forces(after Generations). The Doom powers weren’t truely his, so much as Black Doom giving him a temporary buff. He just prepared a *contingency* for the case he lost, because Batman isn’t the only one who can use that word. It’s a good way to keep Sonic’s victory from being hollow. He DID win a legitimate battle on equal terms, Shadow did not throw the fight.

Love the story, its not a revamp of Shadow the Hedgehog. Its more Shadow found a side plot to piggyback off the Time Eater plot. Then gets a reward on the side. He gets closure with Maria and Gerald. Rather then basic Grieving where it ends in you must accept they are dead and theres nothing you can do. Shadow gets his full final goodbye, so that instead of being a scar, theres no wounds left.

It was interesting how he was still losing rings during the Neo phase, as though he was in Super form. There could be a lore reason behind it, as Shadow already resembles a black-coated Super Sonic. I want to mention how Shadow held back on Sonic thanks to compassion he’s learned to have after all the events from SA2. With enemies during combat, he’s ruthless. In previous fights with Sonic, he was brutal. But now, when wielding a power foreign to him that is more than what he imagined his capabilities before, he chose to spare Sonic in concern to what his newfound blood claim might to him. This. This right here is the Shadow I’ve missed. Not because he’s soft, but because despite his toughness, he still is a critical thinker that cares. WE ARE SO BACK.

As much as I'd love that as a huge Silver fan, it's highly unlikely tbh, but not impossible. Only reason we got Shadow Generations is because of Shadow's immense popularity within and outside the Sonic community. Hence why we have year of the Shadow

I'm glad that Sega finally seems to be letting Shadow not just be edgy the hedgy anymore. Like, sure he can have some aspects like a bit of arrogance, cold demeanor, and being overly serious. But deep down, he's a good person who genuinely cares for the world and respects Sonic and his friends (and he doesn't just doing it for Maria, he actually has genuine care in saving the world.)

If you lock in plot SA2 Gerald made Shadow to avenge Maria's dead (Sonic was in that capsule and Shadow his edgy copy that was made in prison), but it was retconed when shadow became popular (they planned him only for one game). So Gerald is also not a very good person

I think the cutscene where shadow bumps into sonic and it has the set pieces from the 2011 game is sick AF, only I just dont like how they are giving modern sonic the slighting PUDGEY, or like stockier, shorter spines wtf, they were just fine. In sonic 06 they were kinda long. Now in this game/ frontiers they are to stubby. And yet shadow's spines are unchanged.
