I’m rewatching it even later (7/18/2024) and I’m 35 years old😂 However I first discovered it back when it came to the Nickelodeon channel in 2013 because my 3 year old at the time loved watching anything with ballerinas. So it was a win-win for both of us and I was still an adult then too. And here I am even older watching it again, I just can’t use my child as an excuse to do so anymore 😉

This episode was an embrace of likeness I started to have for this series. I'm not a dancer, but am and artist in my own way In certain time when I was battling anorexia, I started watching this. remember my schoolmates making fun of the themes of the series, because they never watched it. This series with the great character development actually saved my life. It made me want to live and love again. I will FOREVER like Dance academy.

The moment at 20:00 is the only moment where I actually was mad at Sammy. At this point he still was receiving financial support from his family, yet he sees himself as entitled to call Tara "crap". Tara had no other option than to go back bc there was just no money. His comments were just rude and unnecessary since Tara already felt bad about leaving.

they only give Tara the scholarship so she could stay at the academi, not beacause she deserved it the most. Abigail should have won the scholarship. They didn't give any money to Samy when he needed it, even know he was working day and night to stay at the academy.Tara is just miss Rain favorite. always the same during three seasons...

It's a scholarship it's based both on household income and talent. Tara get's the scholarship because her family can't really afford it. Abigail's can, as can Sammy's. That's why in Season 2 Miss R tells him to fill out a form to say his independent from his family. He wouldn't qualify because of his father's high paid job. Abigail get's the scholarship alongside Tara next semester because she doesn't get a bad mark in pas de deux like she would have (or had to resit because of her fainting). Miss Raign doesn't play favourites, she gives Sammy and Kat a bunch of chances, she really shouldn't. Miss Raign's 'favourites' are those who try the hardest. So, Sammy, Tara and Abigail (and Kat when she auditions again in season 2).
