It really is INSANE that 20, November (DDR Version) cannot be played! It's one of the coolest classics from the Konami Originals!

0:51 I may have had to pause to make sure that wasn't *our* cat XD this seemed like a really cool unit, but some of those omissions really killed me. I mean no have you never been mellow?! literally my first step to becoming a lifelong DDR fan so that one stung. (can't imagine them trying to figure out licensing from 3rd+ or 4th mix onward!!) as I understand that was on zuiki's end and not konami's... and then there's the weird inconsistencies with the menu buttons which work at what time, that would get confusing! nevermind that I don't know I'd ever have the funds for this one, I'm probably better off importing the games originally I do have a JPS2 and a mat I should really get back around to using...
@yyr_2 ай бұрын
yeah, as I mention in the video, this is more of a superfan item than it is something to buy with the intent of playing it. A JPS2 (or even a JPS1) will definitely take you further in that department. All of the PS1 home versions were very faithful to the arcade versions, in large part because the System 573 is basically a PS1!

You can select different dancers in DDR 1st and 2ndMIX by holding one of the selection buttons upon starting the game. In DDR 1st, the BG effects depended on your selected dancer. In 2ndMIX, nothing special happens. In 3rdMIX, one of the four beatmania AMD remixes becomes playable depending on your selected dancer. 3rdMIX PLUS isn't included, but if it was present, then all four AMD remixes would be available regardless of dancer selection as long as the 3rdMIX PLUS mode is selected.

Hi, I own one of these from the crowdfunding! I actually use a 5V3A battery pack on this thing a lot and it works perfectly. I also used Tenso for shipping it but man DHL was expensive lmao The dance stage is actually made up of LEDs and keyboard switches (TTL if I am correct) that are very tactile IMO. While I’m watching this, I actually got all mini versions of the official marquees printed for my cabinet. I actually changed my marquee art to the Dancing Stage featuring TRUE KiSS DESTiNATiON because that artwork is so beautiful. I’ll have to make a video showing off the custom marquees because so many people have asked for them when I showed it.

EMS was similarly expensive =p The unfortunate fact is that shipping something that big, that quickly is just not cheap. The panels work pretty well for what they are. A small part of me is disappointed that it's not the same sort of "sensors along every edge" setup as the arcade, but that would not have been practical. Custom marquees were a really great idea! You should definitely offer them up somehow...I'm sure there will be high demand for the more popular ones!

Some Japanese have analyzed this DDR, and it is actually using Linux to run MAME. I think Zuiki is not able to buy back the copyright of all the songs. I hope someone can do a USB crack update.

If anyone has questions about this thing feel free to ask them here. I'll start by mentioning something I forgot to mention in the video: the screen and audio are both very good quality considering their size. I have zero complaints about either of those!
@vitokotrollingАй бұрын
Why did they remove those songs? Or they are not there or they were not placed?
@yyr_Ай бұрын
In order to include ANY of the licensed songs (everything besides Konami original songs), the manufacturer needed to re-license them from the music publisher. For the missing songs, this was either too expensive or not possible.

Why are some songs blocked is this worth having
@yyr_Ай бұрын
ZUIKI, the creators of this unit, weren't able to secure licensing for all of the music. Honestly, it wasn't realistic to think it was going to have 100% of the music. Is this worth having? As I mention in the video, it depends on who you are. It's really expensive to get ($400+ if you're in the USA) so IMO you have to be a DDR superfan to even consider it. It's really cool and I'm glad I have it, but it has its flaws. The sync is off so you can't really play it seriously. But to be able to use the stage as a controller on your computer is kind of nice.

Great video !! Very cool product !!! But , if sync is not great , then why should we buy this ???
@yyr_Ай бұрын
I like having it because even just watching the attract mode, it reminds me of the feelings I felt encountering those older machines in arcades years ago. The aesthetics really are spot on. It's expensive, but for a DDR superfan like myself, it puts a smile on my face and to me that's worth it.

I saw a claim in another video that there is an English variant of this thing. AFAIK that is untrue. I ordered the original, crowdfunded Japanese version, its original shipping location was in Japan, and both the box and manual for my product are dual-language.

I really, really love arcade games...and don't have room for the Arcade1UP or full-sized machines. (That's probably a good thing...)

i see a couple of things they missed not many know this but the panel below the start and select buttons should be blue and say get on the stage that decal was used until DDR max came out unless you got a decal refresh kit then it would be the one shown the other is the here we go which was mentioned the other thing i don't like is it doesn't emulate the boot sequence for the 1st gen 573 system and it wierd to see ssr running on on a 3rd mix not 3rd mix korean
@yyr_2 ай бұрын
I don't think the "get on the stage" decal you're describing is official; I've never seen it IRL nor have I seen a picture, and I've probably played on at least 50 different machines to date. It may have been bootleg or custom-made. Every machine I've played on either has the decal as it appears on the Classic mini, or has the PS1 memory card slots there, or has a plain metal panel. The 2ndMIX and SSR modes were on all versions of 3rdMIX, not just the Korean versions =) And you're right, the full boot sequences are not shown (on purpose).

@yyr_2 ай бұрын
@@sfjvariety582 ah! I found the picture of the cab art on the back of the PS1 version, and sure enough it's a blue decal that says "GET ON THE DANCE STAGE !!" It almost looks like a bootleg, but it's obviously the real deal. Must have been rare to actually see this artwork on a machine!

The game won’t read my video capture device to the TV, and it’s running 720p. Does the game not accept 720p?
@yyr_2 ай бұрын
I just checked the product manual; the specifications claim that the unit outputs 1080p. I don't know if this means "up to 1080p" or "1080p only," but it's possible that 720p is not supported. I have not tested this myself, sorry.
